Question 1

What electrical power is required, specifically voltage (e.g. 110v or 220v) and current (e.g. 10a, 15a, 20 a, etc.)?

Accepted Answer

Exactly how many watt hours does this unit draw when it is running? The answers given are contradictory. If it draws 8 amps that means 920 watt hours, which seems like a lot given that other sellers of units this size claim their units draw 450 watts. Knowing it runs on a 15 amp circuit is not helpful - all standard circuits in US are 15 amp. Manufacturer, please know I do not buy products from sellers who hide or leave out the most important information. I am looking at this for my solar powered RV and the single most important piece of information is how much power it uses. I think I represent a significant portion of your potential customers. Make it easy for us to find the info we need. Please put the power use in watts up front where it is easy to find.

Question 2

The window kit had no edge to hold it with the lower panel of the window?

Accepted Answer

The window fixture has to be adjusted to fit the window. The device came with some adhesive foam that I was able to stick on the window to close the gaps while the window was closed.

Question 3

How loud is it?

Accepted Answer

I only find it somewhat loud when it kicks up to high fan speed, but even then you're mostly just hearing air, and it doesn't happen that often, or last that long. Normal fan speed is very quiet, and there is none of that droning compressor noise common in these due to the inverter technology. I have mine in my living room right next to the TV, and I don't need to adjust my volume to hear the TV above the AC. Anyone that thinks this AC is loud, is going to think they're all loud. The 14000 BTU model cools my entire 600 square foot apartment down wonderfully. If it died, I would rush to purchase another.

Question 4

Is it Energy Star certified?

Accepted Answer

The energy star website states that at this time there are no portable room air conditioners that are energy star certified. It states that once a federal standard is set by the department of energy then they will determine a rating for portable ACs.
