BEAUTIFUL PLOT-AMALGAMATING SUSPENSE WITH ROMANCE
BOOK REVIEW OF: The Girl Who Knew Too MuchBy- VIKRANT KHANNA• Paperback: 224 pages• Publisher: Penguin Random House India (14 April 2017)• Language: English• ISBN-10: 0143439944• ISBN-13: 978-0143439943• Product Dimensions: 19.4 x 12.6 x 1.2 cmTHE PLOT IN BRIEF-Can true love bring someone back from the dead? Akshara is left devastated by her mother’s death and spends most of her time in solitude at the local park. One day, as she is sobbing uncontrollably, a young man named Harry approaches her. They become friends and Harry recounts to her a story about the miraculous reunion of a young woman and her dead boyfriend to help ease some of her pain. The story makes Akshara hopeful that she can perhaps see her dead mother again. But she soon realizes that Harry isn’t what he seems to be. Even the characters in his story seem dubious, almost unreal. So what is he hiding? And why? Is there any truth to his story at all? In this darkly suspenseful romance mystery, Akshara is left facing a truth that will make her doubt not just Harry but herself as well . . .THE TITLE-The title is perfect and very apt for the book. We have to allow ourselves to be loved by the people who really love us, the people who really matter. Too much of the time, we are blinded by our own pursuits of people to love us, people that don't even matter, while all that time we waste and the people who do love us have to stand on the sidewalk and watch us beg in the streets! It's time to put an end to this. It's time for us to let ourselves be loved. The girl who knew too much creates an environment of romance and suspicion at the same time. There is a hint of lost love in the title as it says-What if the Loved One You Lost Were to Come Back? I think anyone who opened their heart enough to love without restraint and subsequently were devastated by loss knows that in that moment you are forever changed; a apart of you is no longer whole. Some will never again love with that level of abandon where life is perceived as innocent and the threat of loss seems implausible. Love and loss, therefore, are linked. Overall the title with the cover page is an awesome combination to start with.REVIEW OF THE BOOK-They say true love only comes around once and you have to hold out and be strong until then. I have been waiting. I have been searching. I am a man under the moon, walking the streets of earth until dawn. There's got to be someone for me. It's not too much to ask. Just someone to be with. Someone to love. Someone to give everything to. Someone. Akshara’s character is very vividly portrayed through the entire plot.Hope plays as a major aspect of the plot. The book made me believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. Those hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death. I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you're going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.But the amalgamation the hope with lie or doubt was brilliant. The characterization pf Harry and the way the author has projected the themes of suspense, darkness and gloominess through him is absolutely fantastic. A story is not always a lie. Some stories are truer than truth to such an extent that it sounds like something liars made up to tell people who found them out.Its true that we do not just love the person…we needed him. Not in some desperate "you complete me" sort of way. No, the person does not make us whole. He improves us. Something about that person—something we don’t understand—had a way of amplifying the good in our nature while muting the bad. He acts as a catalyst for our soul. We do not need him in order to exist...we needed him in order to be a better us.But what happens with Akshara and harry? Where do all the factors- love, hope and lie amalgamate? What happens to the characters? Moreover what are the dark secrets behind the story Harry said? To explore the details please order the book fromhttp://www.amazon.in/Girl-Who-Knew-Too-Much/dp/0143439944YOU SHOULD READ THIS BECAUSE-1. THE BEAUTIFUL AMALGAMATION OF SUSPENSE WITH EMOTIONS.2. THE BEAUTIFUL CHARACTERISATION OF BOTH AKSHARA AND HARRY.3. THE TITLE, THE COVER AND THE BLURB WERE OUTSTANDING AND UNIQUERATINGS-Overall I would like to rate the book 46 on a scale of 50.4 stars out of 51. Originality of the plot and sub plots- 9/102. Net emotions in the story- 9.5/103. Usage of words and phrases-9/104. The title, cover and the illustration-9.5/105. Interesting read
About the book :The book opens up with the story of Akshara, a girl of 13 years old who lost her mom recently. She sobs continuously at the thought of her mom, when Harvinder aka Harry lends his helping hands to her and make her believe that she can get her mom back. Then Harry narrates a fantasy story to make Akshara believe that miracles do happen. The story which Harry narrates is about Sahiba and her lover Siddharth. He also says Akshara about how they overcame the fate that was destined for them. Also this story infuses Akshara with a hope that she would get her mother back to her. But eventually she accuses everything as her imagination and she not only dismisses the story told by Harry but also she concludes that even Harry was an imagination. And the story further moves on with the answers for how Sahibha tackled her destiny?whether Akshara got her mother back? Also who is Harvinder?Review :The pleasant color combination of light blue, pink and white on the cover page makes the color look attractive. The mysterious title and the alluring cover with a detailed blurb can make anyone to prefer this book. I couldn’t take my eyes off the cove page. The author has weaved a unique plot which makes the book an interesting read. The book really started up well but after some pages, the story seemed dragging to some extent since Sahibha and Sidhu were given utmost attention which made some chapters boring. But the twists and turns were unexpected and they almost shocked me. The book was not just a combination of mystery and romance but also it dealth well with heartbreak, karma, afterlife, parental care, psychology etc. The author hooked the readers with the book using his first person narration. The characterisation of Sahibha, her faith in love and the character of Akshara is still close to my heart. The simple words and the fast paced narration made it an immediate page turner inspite of the speed breaking chapters in the middle. Also the afterlife happenings should have been spiced up with emotions but the author has tried it in a comical way which makes the concept faraway from reality. The book also makes the readers to believe in miracles and automatically infuses our mind to perform good deeds. Though this book failed to meet my expectations which I built after reading the blurb, it’s still a great book to give break from regular romance and also it makes the readers to realise the value of life.Ratings :Cover : 5 / 5Title justification : 4 / 5Blurb : 5 / 5Plot : 4 / 5Narration : 4 / 5Language : 4.5 / 5Overall rating : 4 / 5

After her mother passed away, Akshara has none to rely upon and so she is astray. She gets depressed and lonely. The perfectly knitted storyline gets you oodles of amusement, surprises, and deserves all admiration. The standard of coherence and the bar of the language are set high. The smooth flow of the narrative binds the reader. Certain bewitching lines such as- “ LOVE IS DREAMING THE IMPOSSIBLE”, “TIME IS THE BEST HEALER” to name a few, holds your heart.
