Three thumbs up.
Installed like a breeze, and worked like a charm. It replaced a 25 year old version that worked flawlessly, until I caused it to short while performing gear maintenance. Oh, I should mention that the instructions do say that before doing any maintenance "DISCONNECT THE POWER", and I personally assure you that this is sound advice.

LiftMaster 1355, bottom limit adjustment requires a knack to get right
Note that this device is intended for a contractor or someone who has installed one before. The instructions that come with the package only contain user guides because it is intended for a contractor to install and then give the user information to their customer. In my case, I pulled the installation guide from the manufacturer's website because it was being used to replace a much earlier version of the same product that was put in service 18 years ago (that's right 18 years). Even though they look almost the same, there are a lot of technical changes. The only annoying thing about the new one is the way it sets the upper and lower limits on the garage door travel. There a no longer the screwdriver settings for these limits. You have hold the up and down programming buttons until the door reaches its upper and lower limit to set these limits.Even through you can press the button quickly to "nudge" it up or down, the distance the nudge moves the door is about a half and inch or so. At the top, no problem because there is plenty of slop. But at the bottom, the limit must be precise. Too far down and the operator presses down on the door making the chain go slack on one side and keeping pressure on the internal gears. Not far enough down and there is a gap at the bottom of the door. It took me about 10-15 minutes to start the entire programming sequence again and again until I got the knack to know just when to time the release of the bottom button so that the door is resting naturally in the correct closed position. Also, you can't use the old open/close wall mounted button or remote. These have to be the new models. There is only one remote and one wall button in the package.

A nice and easy replacement for old Liftmaster professional 1/3 HP unit.
The gear broke in my 2002 unit, believed to be a 3245 and installed by the builder of my house. Thinking that a 14 year+ unit will not last too much longer on the motor, I ordered a complete unit instead of replacing the gear. I bought this since it looks almost identical to my old unit, so the mounting locations will not cause any problem, and it is a 1/2HP instead of 1/3HP. I did come across very minor problems that took more than necessary to install. I used 1 1/2 hour to finish instead of 1/2 hour. The first delay was caused by repeatedly adjusting the tension of the chain to get the final position of the trolley the same as before removal. Another problem was I used the old wall control and the old safety beam sensors, and my heart sunk when the unit did not respond. I switched to the new wall control but kept the beam sensors and the motor worked, but the trolley was moving backward and hit the screw at the back of the track. I recalled when I unplugged the old unit and plugged again, the trolley always moved forward. It could be because the unit was in open position when I unplugged too. At that time, I loosened the chain and move the trolley to the close position. The door closed about five inches above ground. However, at this point, I was stumped as the adjustment buttons were all different from the old unit. It took another fifteen minutes to take a break and to find the right instruction to adjust the travel. The adjustment, once understood, is very easy, and much easier than my old unit. Also, likely with this type of adjustment, the initial position of the trolley may not too important. It also took me more than necessary time to reprogram the homelink on my two cars, since as usual, I skipped reading a couple of pages on my cars' manual. Finally, I wasted time to try to reprogram the keypad, a 976LM I believe, and only to conclude that it will not work with the new unit. After all these were done, I was quite satisfied with this unit, and hopefully it will last as long as the old unit. I have also decided to order another unit to replace the second old unit in the garage even though it still worked. I am quite confident it will take me only half an hour to install this second unit.________________Updated 10/15/16 Bought the Chamberlain internet gateway from Home Depot to set up the remote monitoring and operation. It was super easy to setup and now I can make sure that the garage door is closed when I am away or on vacation, even though the software is not perfect. The remote open and close worked every time, but the alerts to the email and push notification on the android phone failed to be delivered occasionally. I do not know if 1355 has MyQ or not, but 8065 shipped with MyQ is definitely a plus and made the upgrade from a 14 year old unit worthwhile.

Lift Master 1355 is discontinued
I recently ordered Lift Master 1355 to replace my old Lift Master 1255 thinking that the new unit will install easily. When I received the package, I got Lift Master 8065. This new unit does not connect with home link system in my 2009 model car. A compatibility bridge is required to connect to home link system. A second garage door opener may be purchased instead of the compatibility bridge.

Superb Opener!
One beautiful opener! Quiet, and worked immediately with my 2013 Lexus ES350. However, I needed a repeater for my 2002 Lexus RX 300 to connect. Chamberlin (Liftmaster) provided the unit for free if I paid shipping. I agreed, and all are now working perfectly.

Very easy to add to existing setup.
I replaced my frozen opener with this own. It connected and bolted up with no problems. I was able to easily setup my cars on Homelink and my existing wireless keypad, although none of the instructions were exactly correct. I have not yet setup the WiFi connection because there are conflicting instructions on that as well, but I think I have figured it out be interpolation. I gave it five stars because I am used to poor instructions. You may feel differently.
