Yes, it is firmly designed for a lifetime use. This stick is made of hard plastic and you can assembly it by rotating the shorter sticks on the screw threads, which made it long and strong enough to move most of the clothes.

Can I get any paper instructions?

Paper instructions should be with the items. Would be inside another sealed plastic bag. Shows pictures and words to explain how to use each item. The grabber takes a couple batteries for the led light to work, it just folds.... the 3 piece item you assemble is a combo shoe horn and 2 hooks. One would be to take off shoes or socks, the other side helps pick up your shirt from being the shoulder.  The black strap with a soft fabric loop and a metal more firm loop is to help bring your leg up if you recline or lie down. The white half pipe is to put socks on. Slide the sock over the end, stick your foot in and shorten the ropes on each side to your needed length to a complete the task. A black storage bag, and finally a loofa on a stick to help.wash legs while in a shower chair or your back. I hope that I have made understanding what each item does a little easier.
