These are FANTASTIC. I bought one to try and it worked so excellently that I've bought five or six more. They have all been sturdy, attractive looking, and supremely fast and easy to install with no fuss or damage. I have both light curtains and heavy curtains hanging from them and not one has budged, including the one with the heaviest curtain across my closet door, which gets whisked open and closed several times a day. That closet curtain has chewed up and spit out four other tension rods in a year. Also, that closet opening is 48.25 inches wide, a fact I didn't realize when I bought the rod that was for 'up to 48" '. I was afraid I might have to shim it or just send it back but it still fit with that excellent tension. No drilling, no risking the wrath of my landlord. Total win.

Update October 29th, 2019:The rod is still holding up excellently.Original review:It seems people writing poor reviews suggest that it easily falls down. If you follow the instructions properly it seems to hold quite a good amount of weight but it isn't magic. The curtains on mine weigh around 2-3 pounds total, so it seems to hold them up with ease. Anything heftier than that and you'll probably need a drill.While it was tricky to install and took a couple of tries, once you read the instructions over again you'll understand you may be doing something wrong. It's kind of like how one of those bathroom curtain holders work, through applying pressure on either side of the pole between two walls. So when it says you need to install it wider/partially diagonal and then slide it up and reduce the length slowly, maintaining the same pressure, you really should. It makes it really quite sturdy.The packaging on it seemed alright, nothing outright fancy. Everything was there and it included instructions and all of the parts.My only complaint is that I use blackout curtains, and you can see a bit of light leak in toward the top, but this is more to do with the length above my curtains and where the pole was installed, which is completely my own doing.The reason I'm giving this four stars is simply because it's not the easiest thing in the world to install and there are many ways to do it incorrectly. So please, listen to those instructions!

I ordered two of these rods in size 28in-48in for my 46" wide bedroom windows. The rod went together easily and I was able to have the first pair of curtains up within ten minutes by myself. Great! I had trouble with the second rod though. The end that is supposed to come off in order to put the curtains on got stuck and I had to call my boyfriend in to pull it off and it was difficult even for him. I think I accidentally pulled it unevenly and that's why it jammed so beware- be careful when taking the end off of the rod! I was able to hang room darkening curtains on them with no problem. I've had them for five days now and have opened and closed the curtains every day and these rods are still up and haven't moved an inch. These were an answer to my prayers as I am renting and cannot screw hardware into my walls. Love them and would definitely recommend to anyone who can't or doesn't want to put screws in their walls. As soon as I can I will be ordering more curtains for the rest of my windows and more of these rods to hang them with. :)Update: Over two years later and they are still going strong. Bought two more and I love them. Dog even jumped up on one window and pulled the curtains and rod down but the rod went back up even though the tension screw seems to have broken.

I purchased this product because of the "No Drilling" concept. I love the idea of a curtain tension bar that can easily be installed and removed as necessary, and won't leave a bunch of holes. I am not impressed with the tension strength - it's quite weak in fact, and if you are hanging a good quality curtain that might be a little heavy, then this product will not hold it in place. It does come with a tiny screw that can be used, and I ended up using a slightly larger screw in its place. Overall, it's not bad - two screw holes are better than six or more.

Terrible product. It is supposed to be a tension type curtain rod. However, the tensile strength of this product is abysmal. The set-up looks nice after fitting the curtain and latching the rod onto the window frame as denoted in the instructions. However, the whole setup hangs so precariously that a slight breeze will knock it down and this is what has happened to me. Within a week, the curtain/curtain rod setup has come off the window frame multiple times. Even the manufactures appear to lack confidence in their product as they include two screws with the package, which you are supposed to use to reinforce the rod in the event you are using heavier draperies. But unless you are hanging a paper streamers from this rod, it's tensile strength will not be adequate. Very disappointed with this purchase.

I bought 3 of these since I have brick/cement walls (& have to have my man drill holes into the walls just to put up curtains) so when I saw these I still needed 3 more windows covered & these worked perfectly!! They have been up for over a year now & still have not fallen! One in the kitchen has a semi heavy/thick/blackout curtain on it & the 2 in my bedroom have the long sheer curtains on them but even my puppy has pulled lightly on the sheer ones & they all have stayed strong & not fallen! Would definitely buy more if we ever need more!! Also I thought it was a great idea for people that don’t want to damage their walls since there isn’t any holes left once taken down!
