It is opaque, but if you want to write on it, use a pencil or OH pen.
I bought this masking tape because I wanted to write on it.See picture for the results. The dot on the right shows what happened when I let it dry for a minute or so, then smeared it with my thumb.Pencil - yes, that works, it's a bit light, but it doesn't smear.Permanent ink from a fountain pen - yes, you can write, but it smears badly when fresh.Uniball pan - as fountain pen. Smears badly when fresh.OH pen, for writing on overhead slides - yes that works, and it doesn't smear. ( I used the "stabilo OH pen")I tried the smearing test after allowing the ink to dry a lot longer (10 mins) and both the uniball pen and the permanent ink were more stable. It's when the ink is fresh that it smears badly. The tape covers well - it is opaque, not totally, but good enough. See lowest strip in the picture. It sticks well enough to paper, and you can pull it up and reposition without difficulty.

So easy to use
Wanted a feature wall without the hassle of wallpaper or paint, this was so easy to use and transformed the space.

Quickest cheapest glow up!
My first time using washi tape and it was a real joy to work with - I created a geometric feature wall in my living room using 4x rolls of black 15mm tape (2.1m x 2.9m = 6m2) Easy to place, if I got it wrong I could just unpeel and restick. A cheap glow-up!

Easy to use and looks good.
This is my first experience with washi tape and it certainly won't be my last. The tape creates bold, crisp patterns easily. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make patterns with it accurately enough (I'm a perfectionist) but I was able to adjust the tape multiple times after laying it down. It sticks very well but hasn't left any residue when I removed some. The tape feels strong but easy to handle at the same time. It is matte which I like. I bought the black and grey colours. I wanted to improve a few older pieces of furniture and I think it worked well. I would recommend as I am disabled and have joint issues with my hands and yet I was able to use this tape with more ease that I was expecting. I'm probably going to buy more when I run out.

Sticky Stuff
I personally bought this tape for my scrapbook as I needed something that was durable enough to stick my ephemera down whilst also remaining sheer enough so that my book isn’t overly bulky.I have to say, this stuff is definitely a lot stronger than my other tapes and has a great amount of adhesive. As a bonus, the tape still peels off relatively easily and can be stuck down again whilst still maintaining it’s strong adhesive. The only downside is that this tape is a fair bit thicker than some of my other tapes and it is noticeable when scrapbooking as it does make the pages a bit thicker. Overall, it’s not a huge difference but if you’re looking for something to scrapbook with you might want to find something that’s thinner as it does bulk up over time.Otherwise, if you’re just looking for some strong washi tape, look no further as this is the stuff to get.
