Great romance with some humor thrown in
From their first meeting, Brooke and Ryan had chemistry. Granted at first it was more of the "I can't wait to get away from you" variety. However as time goes by, they end up getting to know each other more and the sexual tension escalates. I loved the nicknames they had for each other in the beginning, the playfulness between the characters, and the humor throughout the book.

Recommend
Ryan and Brooke were two unlikely characters to come together and have great chemistry. The book was written beautifully and flowed nicely. They each had baggage they had to overcome. This is my favorite book by this author so far .I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy

Great Romance Read
Another great story by Khardine Gray. The characters are interesting, well-developed and have chemistry. The story is interesting, well-written with a happily ever after. In addition to receiving an arc, I purchased the book for my collection.

Contemporary romance at its best!
I read an advanced copy and I leave my voluntary and honest review.Khardine Gray's "His Girl Next Door" reminded me of Harlequin Romance stories in my younger days. This is modern contemporary with a romantic theme at its best. This book was such a pleasure to read!Ryan is a police detective, single dad to Aria, his rebellious teenage daughter. Her rebellious nature and his temper sometimes make for hilarious scenes. But they also reminded me of my husband's times raising our daughter who is now an adult and mom of 2 children. The father/daughter situations are written very realistically.Brooke is a journalist on assignment in their town for 8 months. Ryan and Brooke's first meeting did not leave good first impressions. But Aria instantly bonds with Brooke. They get along so well. It's because of their relationship that Ryan leaves an open mind for Brooke. They have awesome chemistry and there's only one way to go with that! Amazing!!!Ryan and Brooke's story is a well written romantic drama. Can Ryan and Aria convince Brooke to stay? Will Brook finally put her past to rest? Ryan is the ultimate book boyfriend and single dad. This story will warm your heart, make you sizzle, tear your heart in two, put it back together again and wish you were Brooke when all is said and done. I loved Ms. Gray's newest story!

I volunteered a review for and arc of this book.
Brooke, Ryan, and Aria. Brooke's work sent her to interview someone and it would last awhile. Ryan is a cop and went home to catch his daughter with a new boyfriend, but helps Brooke instead when her car gets messed up. He acts like a jerk to her until her friend Noah shows up and it turns good. Then his daughter comes to her house to introduce her to the neighborhood and she strikes up a friendship with her. She tells Aria that she shouldn't go to college unless she knows what she goes for. Ryan goes and tells her off and says something really low even for him. Then she tells him that she went to Yale and doesn't live of daddy's credit cards. He finds that she's really smart and funny. His daughter looks up to her and changes everything she has been doing and is going to college while Brooke's and Ryan's romance was heating up behind Aria's back but she knew because she is smart too. Brooke's career was put on he because the person that she's interviewing didn't like her. She soon becomes friends and then has the article written. She goes to leave to go back but can't. I liked the book and especially Aria and the things she says. I liked what Brooke says to Ryan. I also thought Ryan was a jerk towards her even though he didn't know her and thought he should know better because he was a cop. I know the reason behind it but still didn't need to act like a jerk. I would recommend this book and author.
