Excellent OMRI listed coir. Exactly as described and no "extras" in the coir!
Much more pleased with this coir that previous brands I've purchased. Found no twigs, roots, or other material in the coir and was able to separate and hydrate to usage within 15 minutes using my technique. Salt level tested well below previous brands I've used, and no additional rinsing was required. For those who complain that it takes too long to expand, it is really VERY simple. Break up the block BEFORE you hydrate. Use a hammer and chisel, or something similar, and split from the ends, not the middle (Flat area). Then break down the block by hand into smaller pieces. Add 5 gallons of preferably warm water to the coir in a big tub or wagon. Then after sitting for a few minutes, you can get the bigger pieces in your hand and crumble them, getting ever smaller chunks until the entire coir is loosened and ready for planting. You may have to add a bit more water after the initial 5 gallons, but don't hurry with it. After it's all separated and ready to use, you can then use it as is, or mixed as I do with some fine compost, worm compost, azomite, and kelp powder for a really rich planting medium. This is an excellent product, and an EXCELLENT price that is OMRI Organic certified, and free of weed seeds, and other materials. Pure coir!Highly recommended, and is now my Coco Coir of choice for future purchases!UPDATE 18 JUNE 2017: I am now on my fourth order of this coir. My plants are performing phenomenally well in the mix for which this is the base. I add 1/3 finished compost, worm compost, azomite, and kelp powder...and my plants zoom up! I mulch with true straw (not hay), and use compost tea or worm compost tea as a feeder when needed. This is THE brand of coir...period! Excellent!

Maybe I got a bad batch, the numbers were way off.
I bought this product specifically because of the "low EC around 1.5" claim. I felt like it would have been rinsed with fresh water and not just sea water like most other coco coir product if that was the case. I felt that I could easily rinse a little more to get it down to the proper low EC range of under 1.3 for seedlings and clones, and just use immediately for my vegetative and flowering plants. This product was not within those ranges. Maybe I just received an outlier product or something, but after the first soak to fluff the coco up from its brick state I tested it. The pH was 6.3, and the ppm was around 800 which on average converts to about 1.6 EC with my Hanna Instrument meter. I was worried that my meter was reading wrong, but I cleaned and calibrated it and came back with the same result. I was not prepped for the amount of rinsing, scooping, drying, clean up and just in general extra processing this coco coir needed to be ready for my needs. I had to waste many extra hours spread out over a week to prep this for use not to mention lots of wasted gallons of water. During the rinsing I found noticable sand in the waste water coming from the coco, so it was obviously washed in sea water like a lot of other brands. In the future I will pick a cheaper coco coir product. If I'm going to need to do this much work to get it to a base line of useability I don't want to pay this much again.

Petrochemical Solvent Poisonous!!
I give this one star because it is coconut, yet that is it's only redeeming quality. That it is OMRI (suitable for organic gardening) certified is a falsehood, travesty & oxymoron, for it is so ladden with & absolutely reaking of petrochemical solvents. I'd rinsed & washed it well, but it still killed all of my vericulture worms; 2500 healthy worms killed overnight!#! Completely poisonously unusable! BEWARE; AVOID THIS PRODUCT!!!

Professional Grower!!! I haven't seen anything like it!!!
I heard about the coir growing medium through other growers and I thought of give it try it and now I never grow without adding coir mixture to all my growing mixtures. I see huge difference with one with coir mixture compare to other without coir mixture. I know coir can be used as growing medium by itself but I prefer other nutrients and mineral along with coir to make the yield better. I see the huge difference in the root development in the one with coir mixture compare to other mixture. I think coir medium is great deal for all growing. I am planning to get more and try with other combinations of mixtures. Great product, I haven't seen anything like it.

I like this product and have very healthy plants that are ...
CoirGro is the right potting mix that I have been looking for . I have used this product for all my vegetables and flowers. I have different varieties of carrots, I have tomato plants of different varieties , peppers sweet and hot, and a lot of other things and so far everything is growing big and strong. It requires less frequency of watering . I like this product and have very healthy plants that are bigger then even I expected.

this coir really holds in the moisture and is a great soil amendment
I started using this in my container garden this year. I can say, this coir really holds in the moisture and is a great soil amendment! All of my plants are liking their new soil. This block expanded to fill half my Rubbermaid wheelbarrow.
