Southwire Adapter Kit for Use with 41210S Circuit Breaker Finder - Includes Light Bulb Socket Adapter - Alligator Clip - Compact Accessory Kit

With the need to trace several circuits in our home and with the breaker box never mapped, I bought a Klein circuit tracing tool. It did the job very well for outlets, but I also needed to trace some switches and overhead light fixtures. This small set of tools is exactly what I need and works perfectly with the Klein tool. The price is reasonable and each of the pieces are sturdy and completes my kit for circuit tracing. The alligator clips are not lightweight, but very sturdy. This is a great set.

The alligator pigtail was nice. Worked like it should. Only issue I had was the bulb piece didn't have a ground hole so I couldn't use it on my breaker tracke.

This item is intended to be used with a plug-in-type circuit tracer to plug the transmitter device into. Some circuit tracer manufacturers offer their "own" device under their branding, but be aware that this device (as well as the others) are not necessarily brand-specific. I use this Southwire-branded device with an Ideal-branded circuit tracer. Its only job is to get the electricity from bare wires (or a light fixture socket) to the transmitter device so that the receiver can pick up on which breaker the signal is coming from at the panel. Nothing more, nothing less. This does the job.

This is a much-needed upgrade for any breaker finder. The added versatility of having these adapters makes the tool substantially more valuable to me. The alligator clips are strong, and everything feels well constructed. The only thing I would change would be to add a ground to the light socket receptacle. Unfortunately, it seems that would violate UL listing standards, so I thought it would be unreasonable to deduct a star over this issue. However I did pick up a grounded adaptor for like a dollar at the Home Depot (picture attached). This is a slight nuisance, but I don’t fault the manufacturer for it. All in all, this simple fix makes identifying circuits a lot easier.

The light socket adapter is for a two prong device not a grounded device such as this. It makes no sense not me. This forces one to use a three ring to two prong adapter. Weird

Had to leave this review here, since i am not able to write the review for the original item intended, which is the Southwire Tools & Equipment 41210S Circuit Breaker Finder Kit with GFCI. I was kind of hesitant to pick this item up because of the lack of reviews; however, the device actually worked. Tested on an outlet that was about 20 meters away and it was able to detect a proper signal between the transmitter and receiver. I also tested out the accessory kit with a light bulb socket and it located the proper circuit breaker.
