NANUK 938 Waterproof Hard Case with Lid Organizer and Padded Divider - Black 938-6001

I needed a durable case for flying with my underwater camera gear as many locations I am now traveling to do not allow me to bring a carry-on as I customarily do. I considered 4 major brands of this type of case, including the Pel**** which I have prior experience with, before settling on the Nanuk 938. The 938 case fits my gear with minimal room to spare. This was my primary criteria when selecting cases to consider. I didn’t want a case that was oversized and thus heavier than needed since I am flying with it to remove areas where all baggage is paid for by the pound. The dimensions furnished are accurate but you do need to consider the inward projections at the wheel and handle locations. The weight isn’t too bad and it came in under 40-lbs fully loaded with my kit. The wheels roll smoothly and have no issues dealing with rough surfaces. The pull out handle is reliable and very sturdy. I chose an orange case because I wanted it to stand out on the baggage carousel. That worked really well, in fact so well that I saw it coming off on a carousel that was not the one the airport reported our flight would be at! It does show some markings from the black conveyor belts, but a quick wipe down with an AP cleaner took care of most of that. However, I didn’t buy it for its looks, I bought it to protect my gear and so far I am impressed with how it handles that. I went with the upgraded interior padding system rather than pluckable foam (which I have prior experience with). The foam is fine for a truly dedicated case with only one main piece to pad, but it’s not as flexible or effective for multiple components, as is my use case. I am 100% satisfied with the case and wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Nanuk case… in fact I already have!

This case is sturdy and well built. I like it better Than pelican. The lid organizer is well thought out for couple dividers behind the pockets for thin item. The handle is strong and the wheels are smooth and easy to roll around. Weight is ok for its size as it’s lighter than most rugged rolling tool boxes. Has lock holes like most cases. Size is good as I can make weight for airlines 50 pound weight limit if I’m careful to not over pack with heavy tool items. My only wish was more sizes.

At this point I've had this case for two years. I've used it to transport my camera gear and lenses. The interior padding is very nice and does and excellent job protecting everything from shocks and bumps. I love the handle and rollers. The handle extends to a good height for me at 6' 3", and it's very sturdy. The weather sealing and hasps lock down well, they won't come open without a deliberate effort by the user. I'm very satisfied with this case.

Strong sturdy case with nice wheels and handle for travel. Padded dividers and compartments are very useful. You can change sizes of compartments to suite your needs. Great protection for my tools while traveling.

I caught this one on sale - and it's a very well made and sturdy case. I'm using it to store camera equipment and have no doubt it will be well protected. The interior organizers and dividers are first rate and I expect to get many years of good use from it.

Very good and very rigid, it is really worth it.

I use this case for tools and it's great. It has survived many flights without any issues.
