the cable that comes with it is Garbage

Excellent 1.09Ghz but poor 978Mhz
Very good performance at 1090Mhz as advertised. I had hoped to also see decent results at 978Mhz but nosuch luck. VSWR at 1090 = 1.2183:1 VSWR at 978 = Off the charts (ranged out at >20:1).Quality control during packaging is a little lackluster. The first one I received had the mounting hardware for some other antenna in the box. Amazon sent me a replacement that had the correct mounting hardware. Both antennas tested similarly on my LibreVNAI'm using it with a RTL2832U (RTL-SDR) on Raspberry Pi 4 8GB running the adsbexchange raspbian image.

Great Antenna!
I mounted this on a 6m mast where it has a reasonable 360 degree view. I also didn’t use the supplied cable that comes with it, as I calculated the losses from that cable would be ridiculous. Instead, I opted to install the antenna with a short 30cm RG316 pigtail with suitable connectors to a mast mounted preamp/filter for 1090 MHz directly underneath it un a weatherproof enclosure, then back to the shack via a 12 metre length of RG6 quad shield cable to my ADSB RTL dongle. The result? I started to hear out to 180 nautical miles within 10 minutes of switching on. I can also confirm that a sweep of this antenna with a Nano VNA displays 55 ohms at 1090Mhz and a VSWR of 1:1.13. This thing is legit! If you use the supplied cable to connect the antenna, it will work, but your range will be compromised.

Didn't know my Harry Potter magic ADSB wand wouldn't work.
I have been running a virtual radar for a number of weeks with a hand made ground plane type antenna. Thought that I would upgrade the experience by putting a gain antenna in the system. Received the antenna - looks great, everything went together well, but the antenna is completely deaf. No matter how many times I waved it and said virtuous radar expecto, it failed to meet even the basic function of receiving a signal on my SDR.I live on top of a hill with a commanding view of the sky and my $1.50 hand built non-gain antenna can receive signals nearly 100 miles away. This antenna couldn't pick up a 777 within 5 miles of my house.I hope that this is not indicative of the quality of this antenna generally - I live outside the US and returning this product is not an option as I have already paid for shipping and duty. Sad because the item looks great and is well built - just that the innards aren't particularly useful.

Provided cable is garbage.
The SMA to Type N cable that this comes with is garbage. The coax broke off at the crimp on the bottom of the Type N connector and will need to be replaced before I can test whether the antenna even works.
