Very accurate sensor. Lightweight enough, decent size. Very smooth readings, even in high frame, high movement FPS games such as Overwatch. Very durable, I've slammed it a few times and it's still going strong. It will stop reading if you slam it , though haha. Just unplug and replug it and it works. It is NOT fully wired, it has a wire that plugs into the front of it and that plugs into the PC. AFAIK it's not wireless at all so not sure why that design choice but it's fine. It works great and I would highly recommend, especially for the price.

Excellent mouse. In terms of raw performance the best one I’ve ever used, including the deathadder essential, logitech g403 and logi g502 original. Surprisingly good build quality for the weight which usually makes light things feel cheap. No rattling, no creaking unless you squeeze/press hard. Switches and wheels are all tight tolerances and centered correctly. The sensor is flawless, the weight is minimal, the design is ergonomic, and the cable is very pliable and light. Needless to say this will perform very well for any FPS game. Will it compete with “uber 8khz polling rate 20g ultra light 100g acceleration million DPI wireless top tier mice?” Probably not. Is it good enough to not matter? For 99.9% of people, yes. If you have a good bungee cord to alleviate any cable interference(which is already incredibly minimal) and the shape fits well for your hand? None of this will matter and your human limitations will come up far before any limitations of this hardware. For the minimal price I paid, I literally cannot expect anything else. This thing is also great for office use love the switches and feel. My only gripe is I wish the side buttons were bigger. Also as a very minor point, the connection point to the mouse is usb-mini and not usb-c. It’s a slightly older design and it is not any real kind of limitation other than perhaps limiting aftermarket cables(which this thing does not need, stock cable is excellent). If you need a cheap but great performing mouse and don’t care about wireless? it is very very hard to go wrong with this. Kudos Steelseries.

Best mouse that vie ever owned and its by far the cheapest. Love the design and the ergonomic feel that it provides, also the clicks are very superior.

I've never tried optical switch mouse before this, and I have to say they are game-changers, the faster response time where there's literally no lag between pressing the button and the action on-screen, I have improved my gaming performance noticeably, I like it so much that I'm considering switching my mechanical keyboard to an optical keyboard. The only caveat I suppose is the click feel, which feels a bit clunky and empty compared to high quality mechanical switch mice. But after using it for a while you forget to notice it. As far as form-factor goes, it's a nice size overall, but I wish the side buttons would be a little bigger because they tend to be hard to press as they are so slim shaped. Software support is as good as any other major brand, you can custom-tune it exactly the way you want it. Logitech may have the best gaming mice in the industry but Steelseries is right behind them and they tend to be more affordable without sacrificing performance, so if you are on tight budget give Steelseries a look.

Good, safe shape. While this mouse is similar to the EC2-B in shape, it does have a distinctive feel. Excellent clicks all around and good scroll. The primary clicks are among the best of any mouse I've tried. Can save profiles to mouse. Feet are not that thick and they are not that white virgin PTFE that we've come to expect from "elite mice," but still nothing to scoff at either - they're fine. The fact that there's RGB on the scroll only means this mouse will not impress many who are interested in the looks department. Personally, I just want the mouse to work, and it works very well. My shots were on point. The shape + sensor + clicks make for an outstanding combo that is hard to beat. The cable is like the feet and RGB - basic but nothing that detracts from the experience if all you're focused on is headshots. I chose the Prime over the Prime+ and wireless because I think it's likely the best bang for the buck of the three. Overall no regrets and highly recommend, especially on account of the sensor and supremely satisfying clicks.

I got the Prime Wired on sale for like $25. I'd say that's a fantastic deal because everything about this mouse is amazingly good, the shape, the lightweight, the surface finish, the sensor, the buttons, the build quality and rigidity of the shell, all just fantastic, I love it, except for one major problem: the cable is really stiff, the worst I've tried yet out of all the gaming mice I own or have tried. It really interferes with moving the mouse. So my options were to return the mouse and get the wireless version, OR replace the cable with an improved, highly flexible aftermarket cable that plugs into micro usb in the mouse. I decided to get the aftermarket cable because the Prime Wireless version weighed a noticeable roughly 10 grams more and I highly value lightweight in a gaming mouse, 10 grams is definitely a noticeable difference. I did some research and ended up getting an aftermarket cable from Lethal Gaming Gear (you have to go to their website they dont sell them on Amazon) with the micro USB end to fit this mouse (luckily this mouse cable unplug from the mouse). It's called the "Lethal Cable" and it's by far the best mouse cable I have so far in my collection, super thin and flexible, it's like having a wireless mouse. It cost me about $30 after tax and shipping which is more than I paid for the mouse on sale. So all in all the mouse with the new cable cost me about $55. Also I had to take some material off the plastic housing on the micro usb end of the cable with a file to make the cable fit past the opening in the mouse body and into the mouse. If the mouse wasnt so damn good it wouldn't have been worth it, but now I have one of the best ergonomic gaming mice in the market. I have to say though, for the price of this mouse, the stock cable is unacceptable and I shouldn't have to spend more money to get a better cable for a brand new mouse. Steel series isn't alone here on the bad cable front though, Razer's cables are way too stiff also. 5 star mouse, 1 star cable.

Wireless mice tend to hit the floor more often than corded styles. I appreciate the sturdy, extra-long cable (some wired mouse cables are very short). Computer mice vary dramatically in price— anywhere from $4 to $400. DollarStore, ultra-cheap mice don't last longer than a couple of months, so it's worth spending a bit more on a mouse manufactured by a known and reputable brand, such as SteelSeries. I purchased two of the SteelSeries mice in the last week and recommend them. A $15 mouse does not have all of the bells and whistles that a $200 mouse has, but they work.

Got a mouse for travel purposes to keep in my bag. Despite being thrown around a bunch, still a champ and works like a charm. Well-built, right weight, feels smooth and right size in the hand. I wish it didn't harass me to use the Steelseries software but that's a very minor thing.

I've gone through a bunch of high-dollar mice in the last few years, and all of them have had the same problem -- they start double-clicking when I single-click. I recently bought a "boutique" gaming mouse with gold-plated switches and space-age something or the other, and it also developed the same problem within 2-3 months. Needless to say, it doesn't matter if your mouse is made out of Kevlar and platinum-iridium alloy, if it double-clicks when you want to single-click, that's a deal-breaker. The problem seemed inherent to the tiny switches used in mice, so when I read about the magnetic-optical switches that SteelSeries had developed, I was intrigued. Their completely new switch design sounded promising and so I ordered one. When I received it, the first thing that struck me about this mouse was the exceptional build quality -- which is not surprising, SteelSeries are known for this, but still, it's so good that it needs a mention. The plastic is rigid and unbending, even when squeezed quite hard. (I can close the Captains of Crush #3 gripper, so adjust your impressions accordingly.) This is a very pleasant change from all the other supposedly high-end mice I have, the plastic on which flexes and creaks -- audibly -- with the slightest pressure. The plastic surface has a texture that is just right -- it's rough enough to be non-slip and fine enough to be pleasant to touch, unlike the industrial-strength gritty/knobby textures on some mice. As far as build quality is concerned, on a scale of one to ten, I'd say this one goes to eleven. One big positive is that I don't need to install any software to use the mouse -- the sensitivity can be set with a button on the underside. This is a hard requirement for me: I refuse to install software, especially a multi-megabyte piece of badly-programmed bloatware, just to use a mouse. The mouse's tracking and accuracy are perfectly satisfactory, but that has been the case for all mice for quite some time now, so I won't dwell on that. Another striking feature is that the buttons do sound and feel unlike any other mouse I've ever used. The click feels a great deal more solid and the sound is also much deeper and more pleasing than any other mouse I've used. This is not surprising, as the spiral spring used in the OM switches is orders of magnitude thicker and sturdier than the insubstantial leaf spring in all other mouse switches. Given the construction of the OM switches, I'm fairly confident that they will not develop the double-clicking problem in time. (If this changes I'll update my review.) Yet another win is that the thumb switches are placed where I cannot accidentally click them. On other mice, this accidental clicking happens quite often, and I find myself going back or forward in whatever application I'm using, when I had no intention of doing so. Which is annoying, to say the least. I'd rather not have any extra switches at all, but at least with this mouse I can forget about them. So far, so perfect. Which brings me to the one thing that makes this mouse less than perfect for me. This is the fact that the mouse's sensitivity indicator light is on top, built into the mouse wheel. I work in a dark environment and really dislike distracting pinpricks of light in my field of vision. If this indicator light had been anywhere else on the body of the mouse, I could have painted or taped over it. But it's in the one place where I can't do so. Ideally, the indicator light would be on the underside. So, perfection minus one point. One more thing that I would've liked to have (and I realise I'm in a very small minority here) is the ability to adjust the mouse's weight. I type and mouse with a heavy hand, and I would prefer a mouse that weighs something like 400-500 grams. I am not pulling this number out of thin air -- I've tried using the mouse with a 300-gram weight jerry-rigged on top, and I do prefer the handling. A top-loading compartment that I could pour the requisite amount of ball-bearings into, would be very welcome.

I wanted to wait a couple of years before giving my verdict, but it's still great to use. The problem I've had with other mice, gaming or not, is that its mouse wheel tends to break way before its intended lifespan, but I've had no issue with this one. The version I have is wired which I prefer for the lowest possible latency compared to the many wireless models. It's a simple mouse yet very reliable and good enough to use for everyday situations.
