Excellent value
Magnification works well. Light works. Includes a hard case to help protect from scratching when not in use. The rotation joint used when rotating the lens out for use has perfect resistance - giving the feel of being well designed and manufactured. I use it for close picture/painting inspection and mineral inspection. I use a different lower 3x magnification lens for quick picture inspection.

Jewelers Loupe Foldable Magnifier
This Jewelers Loupe Foldable Magnifier in 30x and 60x, dual lense LED illuminated Loupe. It can be used for Jewelers, or in my use, to check the health of house plants that may have issues that need seen up close. Works very well. This is a good item.

The magnification is good for both 30X and 60X
I bought this to help find hallmarks and markings for sterling silver and karated gold at estate sales. The magnification is good for both 30X and 60X. The carrying case is quite durable as it is a hard plastic case with a rubber insert for the lens. The downfall of this item lies in the electrical setup. One LED was quite bright and has consistently worked well. The other has a bad electrical connection and flickers. When I went to check the battery the provided tool was helpful, but the threading on the battery cover is plastic and fell apart very quickly when trying to screw the cover back on. I trimmed the loose threading and managed to get the cover back on but it was quite difficult. In summary: Works quite well and I'd recommend getting it, but beware the electrical issues.

It would have been nice if they put the switch on top - but ...
This may be the first time I've given any product five stars on the day I received it, I normally leave room for failure. The case for the "loupe" was the final factor for the fifth star - it is a plastic case with a "rubber" insert that holds the "loupe" (and the key for opening the battery "case") firmly in place. I have had several similar devices before and always break them or lose them; As to usage, this is not a magnifying glass, it is a high powered "loupe" (I use quotes on the word loupe as I'm used to it meaning the old jeweler's loupe held in one's eye). As with any high magnification device the focal length is very limited so the height above the target (and the closeness of the lens to one's eye) has to be quite exact. That is not a failure in the device, it is a function of any high magnification lens. Don't expect to use this to read small print. Another caveat, the LEDs are very bright - don't do as the guy in the demo video does and turn them on with them facing up!!. If you do that you will have to wait a bit to let your eyes re-accustom before you examine your target. It would have been nice if they put the switch on top - but probably impractical for manufacture. Learn to move the switch on the bottom by feel (takes about 10 seconds <g>). I am a wood turner and instrument maker. I bought this loupe to look at the edges of some of my turning tools - the ones I intentionally raise a burr on. When I was younger and went into the woods to find fallen trees I had a microscope to examine the grain pattern of unidentified logs to identify the wood. I gave my microscope to my 16 year old grandson this summer - I hadn't needed if for years as I'm too old (and missing a leg) to collect dead wood (but I'm not dead wood myself). After trying this device on the burrs of my tools I pulled out some exotic woods - I can see the cellular structure clearly - and it is a lot easier than making a thin slice for the microscope. I notice there are several other vendors of the same device on Amazon, at least one is cheaper (but doesn't speak of the case) and a couple more expensive by a bit (and do mention a case). That means there is an OEM that makes it for various labels, but that doesn't mean that they all have the same case. The others may be just as good, I can only speak to this one from EnTeck. Let me repeat myself - a loupe is not easy to use, any movement in eye distance or distance from the target puts it out of focus. This is a loupe. For most magnifications about 15x is a lot, and 20x is getting too high. A 3x,10x,15x should be good enough for most purposes. This device is not meant for rough usage in the workshop, but the fine case does protect it well.

Good enough for occasional use.
Need occasional strong magnification? (In my case, checking a fountain pen nib once and a while). This fits the bill. I would not want this to be a tool I use daily, but for something you might pull out every few weeks to use for a few minutes? A perfect match for that.
