Does it fit the iPad mini 6th 2021 version?

No. It will not fit iPad mini 6th. It will interfere with power and volume buttons.

I can't figure out how to close it around the ipad when not on use. It looks like it has a carrying handle. Can someone post directions or a video ?

Hi Laura. It doesn’t close up around the iPad. You just have to fold the sides underneath and get it as flat as you can. I don’t keep my iPad mini in the kneeboard when I’m not using it because I keep it in my flight bag where it is nice and safe.
