Shimmer nude is so beautiful, especially when the sun catches it. It’s a true nude with a tiny hint of pink, with very fine gold glitter. My skin tone is light medium though sometimes more on the medium side, and this color seems to almost exactly match my natural nail tone. It gives my hand a quiet money, clean girl vibe when applied alone with top coat. The consistency is perfect and I have only tried IBD builder in a bottle besides this (I do my own and I’m not professionally trained). It is better than IBD, just slightly thicker so it doesn’t spill down the side walls. Very easy to control product and also levels better than IBD, in my personal unprofessional novice opinion. That said, I research a ton when buying nail products and it’s totally worth it. When it cures, it doesn’t have a very sticky top layer that all loose fibers attach, like IBD does, so it’s easier to top coat and keep clean. It dissolves in acetone when cleaning the brush so easy to clean overall. I am just trying for the first time so just waiting to see how long it lasts. IBD BIAB stayed on very well, with no lifting for about 4-5 weeks, which is really good. It has gone for up to 6-7 weeks when my nails grew extremely slowly without lifting. So this is a true test of this product. My prep is just shaping, cuticle prep, buffing the nail plate and cleaning well with alcohol before applying Born Pretty base coat. I don’t use primer or dehydrator and haven’t felt the need to. Cure base coat for 60 sec, apply builder gel, flash cure 10 sec individually, then full cure 60 sec, then top coat and seal the free edge, cure 60 sec. Did not need final filing.

been wanting to try this builder gel for a while because I had heard so many great things about this brand, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. It’s strong, easy to work with, and self-levels beautifully, making the application process much easier. I purchased the Baby Pink shade, and I absolutely love the color—it’s soft, natural, and perfect for a clean, elegant look. So far, it has provided excellent durability, and I’m very happy with the results. I highly recommend it to both beginners and experienced nail technicians.

I’ll explain the photos at the end. First I’ll talk about what I use this for, my level of experience, and how it performs in terms of application, curing, filing & shaping, strength, and wear/retention. I am not a nail tech. I’m a product of years and years of YouTube university. I watch all kinds of nail education videos in some of my spare time - and with my other spare time, I do friends’ nails regularly, back to back. I don’t work with acrylic. And I’m not an expert by any means! I’ve used builder gel for a few years now for different reasons - usually sculpted extensions or overlays. I’ve grown accustomed to the ones in the bottle but I had never used one in a pot! After a while, I realized how much builder gel I was going through and decided to try this. I agonized over the color because if I got it wrong, there was no way I was going to use it up before it expired. Well, baby pink is PERFECT. For basically everything. It isn’t too pink or too white. It isn’t too opaque either. It’s easy to work with. Unless it’s a cold day, in which case I’d recommend what the packaging says about soaking it in warm water to loosen up the product. It truly is easier after that. I’ve tried making it work when it’s cold and it’s a lot more tricky. I love that it has a medium viscosity - harder to flood cuticles and sidewalls this way. I use a round brush for application. I’ve tried a square and that was bad😂. Go with small round brush! I apply it over the gelish ph bond, pro bond, and base coat. It’s a great combo in my experience. Which I’ll address later. Application is easy after applying a slip layer. I just “print” side to side to work it down the nail and it ends up being pretty smooth! Usually I can get it to self level before curing and save myself time on filing later. Sometimes I need to use a liner brush or flip the nail to get the apex where it needs to be. Curing is straightforward! As I go from nail to nail I just flash cure so I can move on without flooding, but then I do a full minute and that seems to do it! The product is hard and strong. Filing and shaping is easy. I use either a medium or fine bit since the product isn’t as hard as acrylic for example. And it works well! I then hand file to refine the free edge and it happens quickly with this product. It lasts for 2 weeks with usually almost no lifting, 3 weeks with minimal lifting. The only time someone came back after 4 weeks due to availability, the product still hung on super well and I didn’t have to fix nearly as much lifting as I thought. The combo of the aforementioned prep products seems to work well. Only recently did I switch to a sanding band for backfills instead of a buffer so I’ll update this review if retention changes! To explain the photos: -The first photo is a backfill I did with this product. This is how the color looks as a backdrop for nail art after using a considerable amount to infill and rebalance. -The second photo is an example of what the color looks like when used for an extension (I used paper/sticker forms). -The third photo is an overlay on the natural nail. Hopefully that can help with an understanding of opacity. -The last photo is an overlay underneath some nail art. Hopefully all of these photos help you decide what color you need! Overall, love this product and will probably buy it again when I run out.

Let me start off by saying I AM A BEGINNER. By no means do I think my work came out flawless BUT I am actually fairly satisfied with it as it was my first ever attempt. With that being said, I believe for my first attempt it wasn’t terrible!!!! I actually really like this product a lot. Pictured is the shade “Shimmer”. As you can see I went a bit close to my cuticles which I realize now looks bad but I’m okay with that, I will be sure to correct my mistake the next time I attempt my diy nails. Now, let me tell you a little background. I am one of the least artistic people I know. I am absolutely terrible at anything arts and crafts related. Although these are nails I would still categorize it as arts and crafts lol. Anyways, the self leveling component of this product is so reassuring!!!!! I really enjoyed playing around with the product before curing. Like I mentioned, this was my first time ever being exposed to doing my own nails and I also added extensions which I would say makes these look a little strange since the shade was a bit on the lighter side or perhaps I didn’t add a thick enough layer but as I mentioned I am not upset about the end results and will continue playing around with the product until I’m able to perfect it better. My nail tech is my holy grail BUT it’s recently become hard to book an appointment with her so I decided to give someone else a try. Let me mention that my nail tech always gets my nails done in 30 mins, and I go without chipping for up to FIVE WEEKS!!!! Also, my nails are always basic, the most exotic thing I’ll do is French tip design and she never charges me more than $60. Anyways, I decided to try a new tech and she took TWO HOURS to do a basic pink nail set on me. Ok whatever, I don’t care about the time BUT the set started chipping after FOUR DAYS!!!!!! And she charged me $90….. with that being said, I decided that for my own sanity I would rather screw up my own nails and learn rather than pay someone else to do that for me. Hence why I am here so willing to learn this builder gel. The product so far seems very sturdy and strong!!! As a beginner I would say this is beginner friendly as long as you are willing to learn. With time I know I will be able to perfect using this product because quite frankly I am over paying people to screw up my nails. Please let this be your sign to start learning to do your own nails!!! And please don’t be upset with yourself if they don’t come out looking salon quality after your first time, with time comes perfection and as long as you are willing to learn you will reach your end result. For me personally, I like my nails feeling strong that’s why I adore having them done since they’re so naturally brittle so if your a beginner and feel the same as I do, do yourself a favor and learn!!!!

Great builder gel! It has a nice consistency, is easy to work with, and applies smoothly. It cures well under my LED lamp and gives my nails a strong, beautiful finish. I’m very happy with the quality and would definitely buy it again.

I love these hard gels I bought 10 of them (different shades), the only thing in the picture they advertise they are all 1fl oz (there’s only one that isn’t which is sunburst it’s 0.7oz) there’s no one to contact, the shade magenta I received came 0.7fl oz & sunburst as well but sunburst is advertised as 0.7fl oz but magenta is advertised as a 1.0oz but it’s not, idk if I got sent the wrong size? But other than that I LOVE these hard gels so beautiful & opaque & easy to work with

I was able to successfully sculpt a nail using a Beetles kit and their clear builder gel but that nail didn't match my natural nails when I painted them with a translucent jelly polish. Enter IN.HYPE Veil. When I look at the underside of my nails now they all match and jellies look the same on all 10 digits. You MAY be able to tell the one is sculpted because I'm still on the journey to getting my filing and shaping as good as a salon's but, does it match my imperfectly shaped natural nails? Yeppers! The consistency is slightly thicker than Beetles and less sticky and more self-leveling than IBD. It's extremely easy to control. With other pots I have a hard time getting down a really thin slip layer. IN.HYPE's consistency allows me to get that and to gradually build up a structure on top of it. I will buy again.

I ordered the blue shade, and the color is absolutely beautiful. The pigmentation is quite strong and opaque for such a light color, which I really like. The consistency is perfect — medium viscosity, not too thick and not too runny. It doesn’t cause any burning sensation in the lamp, self-levels beautifully, and is very easy to file. It wears really well and lasts great without any issues. I’m very happy with this gel and would definitely purchase it again.
