Finally found a cabinet makers pencil worth keeping.
I've purchased and lost many carpenter's pencils over years. Is it going replace the 10 cent 1/2"x1/4" traditional pencil you buy by the gross? No, those are great for framing, decks, fences, etc. But this thing is way better designed and much better built than the multiple Rockler cabinet builders pencils I've purchased and broken.Thick lead, easy to use sharpener, different marking sticks for wet wood, solid surfaces, and concrete. It just works. The "sheath is something I thought would be a pain. I leave the sheath in my pocket and just pull the pencil out to use. No broken tips or marked up clothes. I've purchased several for my crew. We all love them.

Love this thing!
you never knew you needed this till you had one! I bought this off a youtube review, and I use it all the time! There is just something about having a strong, thick, high quality pencil on the jobsite. After I got mine, everyone else on my crew got one too.

Tough
I now have two of these, one on my tool belt and one in the shop. This is a fantastic pencil and I love the sharpener. Pocket clip could be a little longer, but overall design is good. A little expensive, but value is there.

Great tool. Lead too thick for fine work (woodworking)
Design is great. The holder is perfect, attachs solidly to fabric or tool pouch and pencil clicks in and holds solidly. Sharpener is a nice feature, would be nice to have an eraser incorporated somewhere. Pencil is spot on for my hand size and the action is good. Only con for me, as a finish carpenter is the lead - too thick and needs sharpening too frequently IMO, but should be good for framers etc. I see Pica has a 0.9mm, which I’m trying out next (not sure if its on Amazon yet). Hopefully the Pica dudes will sensibly bring the price down, as there are a bunch of competitors in the field. Great product though, giving it a 4 for personal requirements, but its a 5 for the right application

Should have got this before knock offs
I bought the knock off a few times before I spent the money for a real pica, now I wish I did it sooner! First off there lead and colors marking are maybe 3x better contrast and will actually mark on objects the other crap brands won't, 2nd off their lead does not snap off as easy as the knock off do, the pica cap stay in place and having the easy pocket holder is probably the best thing, you can drop it into the holder and it stays put, while the other brand you have to force it and it might stay if your lucky. The only thing I'm not happy with is the sharpener blade, I might have got a defect, or their design is muck, but ever time I tried sharpening the lead, it catches funny and just snaps, in started using the shapes that came with the knock off, seems to work much better. I'm still sold on the product and will buy more, as it's faster and easier to use then others.. to pica engineering team, look at adding a built in sharpener in the inside, so you do not have to remove to sharpener.

Great workshop tool
I have always used carpenters pencils and the only complaint was sharpening them when they get dull a few times a day. Now I can go for days without sharpening my pencil because this holds the lead so well that when it gets worn down you can just rotate the pencil and use the sharp edge of the lead.I works great for woodworking. It works great metalworking as well with the optional crayon leads. So far there hasnt been anything it doesnt work on. I think I will buy a second one to keep with my welding equipment so I dont have to change leads. Its a great addition to any tool box

Great product
I use it for marking lines and measurements for leather projects. The colors are great for contrast.
