It has been harder to find this type of product in stores. I ordered this after moving to New Mexico and live in a rural area where the landline is essential. The voicemail works and sounds very good. I use my smartphone most of the time but when I need this phone to work it does so admirably. It has an intercom function I never need but it might be useful for other people. I am happy I bought it.

Just got it but a great phone so far. If you want to screen your calls, this is a great phone to do it with. Phones that mention " answering system" are probably the playback type but on this model, you can actually hear the message as they are speaking. My family gets a lot of telemarketing calls and this is a great way to ignore them. You have the retrieving later option, but it is much easier to hear them live. The sound quality is great. The keypad lights up as a call comes in and when you make a call. It also comes with a second phone on a rechargeable base so it is more convenient if another family member wants to answer it from another room. It seems harder to find a phone with an answering machine in the base today but if you want to screen your calls from what I think of as pesky people this is the one I would highly recommend. Panasonic has been around a long time for good reason and we trust this brand. Again, only my opioion, but I hope it helps.

Not overly fancy, but a reliable and easy to use phone. Had the last one for about 10 years.

I'm not going to write a lot....it's late....but I just want to say that I read reviews for hours and hours.....I am normally a Panasonic person...but I was willing to read other reviews and look on other websites. In the end...Amazon had the best price, of course, they have the best customer service, This model phone had the best reviews for what I was looking for. STILL, I did not buy them. I waited a few days because I just...wasn't...sure...I DID NOT WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED. You know how there are all these good reviews and then there's like one or two bad ones....just enough to plant the seed of doubt? Anyway, I finally bought them. The reason I decided to bore you with this review is in case there's someone like me who obviously has this much time to spend buying a new phone.Bottom line.....NOT DISAPPOINTED!!...Matter of fact, I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality and advancements since I bought my last Panasonic phones.....I've had them about a month now and I'm really happy with looks, quality, performance & features.

The price is excellent, it does sound excellent. It’s good looking too. But as soon as I got this phone I had to call Amazon to find out why I couldn’t call out. They contacted Panasonic. Thankfully they called. Because this company doesn’t answer customers phone calls. Then after this the phone worked very decently. Then I had voicemails. Now I get a message from Panasonic to call the company. Impossible! And then I called Amazon for our predictable excellent service. And I got someone that said unfortunately Panasonic doesn’t take any phone calls on Sunday. I will call you in the morning. He did. And when he called me. He said I have tried to contact them. But as of right now. No luck. I will call you if I get them. And I never got a call. Then I called Amazon. And then I was told that they would call my cell phone. And then I never got the call. And then I got a call on my Panasonic phone. And then I she said unfortunately this company isn’t helping our cause!
