Are these normally worn with or without underwear?

I have worn underwear with them but they are lined so I don’t think you would have to.

will the lining always stick out underneath the actual shorts?

Yes it will. I ended up sending mine back to get a size smaller. And I am going to have the lining hemmed up so it does not come down past the shorts. A lot of work but still worth it to be considering how comfortable they are.

Outside zippered pocket on the right back only. An zippered pocket on the side of the undershirts on the right side.
