Doesn't last- Given a new product
I had this item less than a year before it quit working.Edit- The seller of this item contacted me after my previous review and offered to replace the item. I quickly received the replacement and it has worked perfectly since. TIme will tell if the previous item was just defective, but hopefully this one lasts long. Even if I was disappointed with the original product, at least they have good customer service.Edit- It's now been 3 years with the replacement and it works fine. No complaints.

Snake safe and approved!
I bought this heating mat maybe two months or more ago for my ball python and needless to say I LOVE it. Unfortunately, it was NOT warm enough to just place underneath the enclosure (Which is all glass) so I had to put it inside and bury it underneath the substrate but in a way, this is also a pro because due to that he doesn't run the risk of, nor has he been burned. Hell Furi sometimes likes to burrow into his substrate and lay beneath the mat but when I've checked on him he's perfectly fine! I use this alongside an additional and standard reptile heat pad (for the hot side) and his temperatures have been perfect since. He's a very happy boy indeed. It's been especially useful during the cold season seeing as I have no heat currently.Unfortunately, there's no adhesive or anything to actually flatten or tape it to the bottom but the pressure of the substrate seems to have fixed that. Albeit so if you intend to stick it somewhere you're gonna have to apply adhesive yourself.

Misleading
I feel this product is misleading. The thermostat works from 68-108, however the mat only heats 10-20 degrees above the room temperature. I bought this product to start seeds in a vacant house with the heat set at 50 degrees, so I was hoping this mat would heat the soil to 75, but even with increasing the room temp to 60 the mat has only warmed the soil to 68 degrees. This setup would probably be great for someone that lived in a warm house that didn’t want the soil to get over a certain number of degrees, but for simple seed starting the far cheaper mat is probably a better choice. I will be returning this item.

Works well with Kombucha brewing
I purchased this to help warm my two, 1 gallon jugs of kombucha I brew with. the pad is large enough and stiff enough that you can stand it on its side and wrap it around the one side of both jugs. The included thermostat reader and heat control sticks to one of the jars and gives a reading consistently about 4-5 degrees below the internal liquid temp. Knowing that I'm able to control the temp rather well and with the enclosed but ventilated space I store my brew I'm able to get a temp as high as 85 degrees (more than sufficient) and I can control the temp to drop down to 70 easily.Because it stands in the end, I've been putting my second fermentation with bottles behind the mat and that allows them to gather some warmth as well for additional carbonation.

Snake Heating Pad
I use this for my snake's heating pad and it works pretty well. He seems happier so that's all that matters. It was a little difficult to program at first but once you figure that out its simple. To change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit you have to hold the set button down for a while. The directions say three seconds but it is probably more like ten. Same with changing the temperature setting. Once you set it, it stays on so you won't have to worry about fixing the temperature again unless you unplug it. I think this was the best set for animal heating pads as the thermostat is absolutely necessary.

Great for bread proofing/bulk fermentation!
I've been using this mat for something it's not *exactly* designed for - proofing bread. Even if I could find a bread proofing box that's actually in stock, they're like $250, so I figured I was losing nothing giving this a shot.I have a high-walled plastic food container that I do the bulk ferment in with my sourdough, and have had very poor luck in the colder months. With this, I set it to 84F on my benchtop, place the container with the dough in the middle with the thermometer stuck to the side of the container, and cover it with a towel. Even with my house running close to 65F it keeps it nice and cozy, and has yielded fabulous results!I keep it on the mat for the autolyse, the bulk ferment, and the final proof and it's been perfect - much nicer being able to make a couple loaves in a consistent amount of time, AND not have to mess with overnight proofing in the fridge!

So far, I'm pleased with the products' construction and function for the price
I've only been using this for about 24 hrs out of the box. But, so far, I'm pleased with the products' construction and function. The red LED control display is bright and sharp. I followed the instructions supplied with the controller and I had my temperature set point set up in just seconds. My seed starting table is in a basement area that's around 60 degrees ambient. With an 85 deg. set point, the mat has brought my soil temperature up to around 80F, which is close to where I wanted it to be. It's probably capable of getting the soil much hotter, but I have had no need to go higher. I don't believe the product description mentions it, but the controller display is also a thermometer, that shows actual soil temp. Not sure how accurate it is, but most seed starting temps aren't all that precision. If exact soil temp is a concern, you might want to invest in a precision dedicated soil thermometer to verify. Also the description says the mat accommodate one seed flat? My 20"x20" will actually accommodate two standard flats, which is why I bought this one instead of one of the small 20"x10" mats that are offered on Amazon.

Broke during second use.
I used the mat at the start of the year to help germinate a few seeds. It didn't get hot enough quick enough for its own sensor, before shutting off because it wasn't reaching temp.I was going to use it to keep some indoor plants warm through the winter, but when I went to turn it on to test it. I came back after ten minutes to find it flashing 25.00 and not heating any more. Unplugged and plugged it back in and now the display doesn't work.Save your money and buy a better controller and mat. Don't buy this cheap crap.

-Will update- initial impressions
The pad it’s self is very curved from being in the box for a while. Though it’s not something I’m to worried about I’m hoping this will flatten over time. I was a bit confused at first with what to do with the plugs and the sensor because I couldn’t find the instructions but I did afterwards.Plugging it in for the first time it took a little while for the pad to start heating up but it seems to heat pretty evenly, I have not set up anything to put on the mat yet so I will update when I use it more

Does the job
I set the thermostat for 78F and once everything was stabilized I was getting a range of 3 degrees above and below that. That was fine as those temperatures were within the overall range for clones, but might be too large a swing for some uses/preferences. The temperature displayed wasn't perfect but it was acceptably close enough for me.

Works great
Excellent seed mat. Loved that I didn’t have to buy thermostat separate. Directions are a little lacking. I struggled to figure out where to put the probe. Directions should read not to “submerse” the probe as it is meant to get a little wet in the soil.
