Great suitcases at a great price
I'm not one for fancy suitcases. I just want a suitcase to lug my stuff around that is durable, light, and not hideously ugly. I was holding on to a 15 year old set that weighed about 100 pounds each completely empty. Then the zippers broke which was the sign I needed to move on. These Samsonite suitcases fit my needs perfectly. First of all, super light. Second, like Russian nesting dolls, you can put one inside the other, which saves a ton of storage space. The interiors are well appointed with separate zippered halves and side pockets. You can expand them as well if you've bought a few too many souvenirs and need the extra space. I also like the wide variety of colors (I got a silvery dark gray - very attractive). The TSA locks are easy to set up although a little hard to lock but seem to serve their purpose. They do seem to scratch easily but whatever -- I'm not looking to win a beauty contest with my suitcases. As for size, the smallest is compatible with your basic carry on requirements. The middle size is the one I think I will use the most as I am a fairly light packer. The biggest seems huge but would be useful for a ski trip or an instance in which you need to bring a lot of bulky stuff. Really really pleased with my new suitcases.

One of the best sets of luggage available in this price category...and substantially better than most in any price range!
This is the 3rd set of these bags I've purchased. I own 2 full sets myself and just bought the purple set for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift...her luggage was falling apart on us when we were traveling so she always used one of my sets anyway. They really are incredible pieces of luggage...to date I've had them out in the rain, loaded them up with upwards of 150 lbs and then thrown a 100 lb duffel on top and still rolled them around with relative ease and with no degradation or breaks in the wheels (although with this much weight the bag will start to sag if you have the expansion zipper unzipped...which I think should probably be expected). Thus far the only two issues I've had with any of them is that: ...one telescoping handle on the carry on of one of my sets is slightly bent now after I dropped it down an escalator with the handle extended. The impact at the bottom with 65 lbs of weight behind it was enough to cause a small bend. As a result it didn't slide in and out quite as easily as before until I took two minutes to gently bend it back. Now it works perfectly but has a blemish. ...someone tried to break into one of them in Thailand and ripped a zipper tab off entirely as well as bending up a number of teeth. They didn't actually get anything out of it, but I did have to send the bag to the service center in Singapore. This might surprise you, but they don't cover lunatic thief damage in the warranty so it cost a few bucks to get a new tab. I actually opted for buying TWO new tabs so they matched perfectly...so that was a few more dollars on top of the few dollars it had cost before! Vanity. It'll get you every time. Otherwise these bags have been abused by literally dozens and dozens of angry airport baggage handlers, bored taxi drivers, underpaid hotel and bus porters, and I've never gotten them back with anything inside damaged. PS4 always works like a charm and my shampoo is always in the bottle where it belongs! They're exactly what you'd want in a functional suitcase. One thing that might be nice would be more handles...the carry on only has one handle on the top, and would greatly benefit from one on the side like it's two larger counterparts, and it would be nice if there was an indention or some other way to grip the bottom...throwing this onto the top of a truck when it's fully loaded when all you can hold onto is one handle and a wheel is not fun. ...but to be fair, most of Samsonite's target demo won't be throwing this suitcase onto the top of a truck. So there's that! :)

A sexy set of luggage
I was hesitant in ordering these but glad that I did. This order came separately and was in the Samsonite box with no damage. Suitcases were nested with each piece secured in its own cloth bag and were a beauty right out of the box. There's tons of space, would be great if there were some pockets to organize things. These AmazonBasics 4-Piece Packing Cube Set - Small, Medium, Large, and Slim, Gray look like they would be a good fit for such a set so I will test them out fairly soon, maybe get a few of the med/large ones. I also transferred the snap in pouch which holds shampoos and the like from my American Tourister collection as I found that really handy and none were included with this set. I used the full set on an international trip and they fared pretty much as expected. The carry-on piece stowed overhead with absolute ease and is a fair size for those essentials you can't/won't check thru. I usually travel with the carry-on piece and my laptop backpack which fits under the seat. You can see the dimensions and note that both the other pieces are large and roomy in fact, if I need checked luggage, it will usually be the medium piece that I travel with. I've done European coach tours before where you're only allowed one suitcase and the large is ideal for situations like that. There's no attachment to connect them all so you're sol there. It would probably put too much stress on that center part of the larger case from regular use anyway. They're very smooth rolling and one person could get away with rolling them all but I can't imagine that would be ideal but doable. Definitely fashionable, you see the photos, and they look even nicer in person. There was a scuff on the 28" when I got home which all but disappeared after wiping it down with a damp cloth, not particularly bothered about something so minor as I do quite a bit of travel and have had some checked cases come out the other end with broken wheels, damaged pull handles, etc. I wasn't aware polycarbonate luggage existed before checking these but they're a great set and I wish I had more opportunities for general use to get them out & about. I definitely recommend.

Used only once on car trip
I just used the small and medium sizes on a car trip. They held up well but they scratch very easily. They also attract schmutz in the beginning but by the end of the trip that seemed to go away. I love the color. I don't know if I trust it to hold up to the abuse of checked air travel. I have other hard sided luggage that has textured sides and it seems more durable. This luggage may seem less durable to me because it's a more flexible flat design. The wheels held up well. Tilt pulling and pushing in an upright position with a tote bag over the handle was very smooth. We took the luggage to and from the room ourselves and it was very nice and sturdy. The zippers seem well made and sturdy. The smallest piece has the bar from the handle inside so it takes up valuable space. Overall I like it but only time and more travel will truly tell.

Incredible bag at any price point...a must have at this one!
I can't say enough good things about this line from Samsonite! Since purchasing them a year ago to replace my older luggage I've taken them all over Brazil, all over Argentina, Singapore a dozen times, Bangkok at least once a month for the last 2 years, Ho Chi Min, all over Cambodia, and of course on trips around the US. I've thrown them on and off buses, dragged them from train to train, crammed them in and out of more taxis and shuttles than I can count, and dragged them about a mile and a half down the road in the rain (they're surprisingly water resistant at the seams and expansion fabric...although certainly not water proof). Through it all the handles have held up, despite the larger two consistently weighing in at 70 lbs and the carry-on frequently tipping the scale at close to 40 lbs (don't tell the airlines...that's way too heavy for a carry-on to be) and the wheels are still in amazing shape. The bags also look fantastic given them beating they get! There are a few scratches here and there and I've frequently gotten a bag back with a corner smashed in...but it always pops right back into place with no issues, and the contents are always safe and secure. The locks are still in perfect working order...the handles still slide in and out easily and feel solid when locked into place. All of the zippers work perfectly. The single significant gripe I have about this set of bags that would make it absolutely perfect would be more handles. The carry-on only has a handle on the top of the bag...which makes it a bit awkward for carrying up and down stairs...a side handle like the other two have would be ideal. It would also be nice if there was a grip of some sort on the bottom so that you could more easily lift with two hands when moving it up onto a rack or something of that nature...while most purchasers won't use them to the degree that I do, most will at some point want to put this bag onto a stand in the hotel or lift one up onto a shelf in the terminal bus...the largest bag in particular has a deceptive amount of storage space (I've had it loaded to 104 lbs) and picking it up by the top handle and a rotating wheel is...not super fun. That one caveat though shouldn't discourage anyone from buying them...they've stood as well and better to any number of other more expensive bags I've owned, including other Samsonites...I've been very pleased with them, and expect them to last at least another few years at my current travel pace. For people like my parents who only fly a few times a year this bag could very well be the last one you ever have to buy. EDIT 02/17/2017: I've now purchased 3 full sets of this luggage, 2 in Charcoal for me and a purple set for my girlfriend. I can literally pack everything we own save our camping gear and bikes in those 9 bags...to date the only issue I've ever had was that someone tried to get into one of them and tore through the zipper with a screwdriver or knife...the end result was one zipper clasp was completely missing and a few teeth on the zipper got bent up pretty badly. I sent it off to one of their authorized dealers in Singapore though and was able to repair it with no issues while I was in Malaysia for a few months. EDIT 01/11/2018: After 2 years and just shy of 100 flights, I ripped the seam of the inside liner on one medium bag. I don't think this was the result of bad workmanship however, rather I'd only packed clothes and some camera gear into the top section and zipped it off. The other side was not entirely empty but close. I think at some point the pressure of the gear against the fabric divider, without the support of gear on the opposite side allowed enough motion to cause the seam to give out. It's being repaired now...I'll add a picture once I get it back.

Best Luggage I've Ever Owned
My husband and I have been really impressed with this luggage. Although roughly the same height as our old cloth luggage, these suitcases are far roomier inside and much, much lighter. The castors & telescoping handles glide smoothly (and are sturdy enough to accommodate my laptop backpack), and the cases turn 360 degrees without a hitch. I especially liked the inside belt and zipper pockets, which allowed me to keep my belongings nicely organized and the integral TSA-approved luggage lock is a super smart idea. In addition, the side handles are nicely positioned for when you need to hoist your luggage by its side as when placing it upon your bed or in the luggage hold in an airporter. But the best feature by far is the exterior. These cases look sharp even after being manhandled aboard Air China four separate flights totaling over 12,000 miles. Once I got home, I gave each case a thorough inspection. At first, I thought that the cases had been scraped. My bad: what at first appeared to be scrapes was actually the paint color from OTHER PEOPLE'S LUGGAGE. I managed to remove them with a some Goo Gone and a bit of elbow grease, and used an all purpose degreasing spray cleaner to remove the Goo Gone. The remaining few nicks & scrapes are hard to detect unless one looks very closely: the striated color pattern on the Charcoal Gray color hides them quite nicely and the surface is still shiny and brand new looking. I was willing to spend a little more to get luggage that would last me without falling apart and I think I've finally found it. I will never go back to soft-sided cases again. Highly recommended.

Just Recieved, will update after cruise handling *UPDATED*
I must have spent hours looking for luggage sets. I'm not made of money, but I'm also just paranoid enough to not want to risk a less expensive brand that reviews were either broken wheels or zippers. I get hard luggage will get banged up, so wanted to go darker color wise. My husband didn't care about the color, and the white, orange and purple 3 sets were half the price of the other colors. White is too light for us. Orange will (imo) look dirty quick. Dark purple won't look super dirty fast and hopefully will hide scuff marks better. So he gets manly purple. The protective plastic film is still on in the photos, but if you look around the logo you can see the true shine. We may leave the film on for the cruise, sure it'll look goofy but will provide a tiny bit more protection than if it was gone? Side note, if you check out lots of the negative reviews, they tend to refer to scratched up and peeling 'finish', thus is likely the protective film. I'll update again after the cruise for a true story of how well it works! Zippers feep sturdy. Zipper on the liner is backwards, which I think is intentional as I've seen this on various luggage sets in store. It opens just fine though. Handles feel good, but I'm honestly nervous on how well they'll handle weight. Luggage came with 1 of the luggage locks numbers off, it said 001 instead of 000 like the others. Common sense made me change it to 000 and it opened just fine, so make sure to try the default of 000 if yours is the same. Package was only taped once, all packing material seemed solid and not redone, so I doubt this is a return. *UPDATE* Luggage handled the cruise handling just fine. We checked the 2 larger bags and carry on the small. We walked off with all 3,including walking across a busy street to our parking garage. The luggage has very slight scrapes, nothing noticeable unless you're looking close and at an angle. I did remove the plastic before the trip too. Wheels worked well. Handles did fine. I had the medium and large loaded to just under 50lbs each. Only issue is, I was going to register the luggage and it says to use a QR paper that came with the luggage or find it in the luggage. There was no QR code anywhere and I do have a tag in each luggage but can not figure out what numbers to use. I emailed the company so will k ow soon hopefully. Luggage wise, I'm not regretting it as our first luggage purchase at all. They're so pretty and feel sturdy, I cannot wait to find another reason to travel with them again! All 3 fit in the trunk of our 2013 Hyundai Elantra BTW. Pro tip, open the luggage to air out a bit, then toss a dryer sheet in each side (behind the zipper). My husband was wondering what smelled so good when he helped me pack the luggage, and when we opened it upon return it smelled very nice.

Best bags I have ever travelled with!
Great luggage. You will never not see your bag come off of the baggage claim belt. The view isn't as harsh as it appears, and looks very nice coming out of the box. Once the luggage is used, however, it will become scuffed and will show wear. I find the bags to be very rugged as well. They can certainly take a beating. For storage you can put the small bag in to the bigger one, like nesting dolls which also helps cut down on space. I also purchased an extra one of the large size so my GF and I have a total of four of the bags. The wheels roll nicely, and the bags are easy to steer. The locking mechanism works well too, but it can take a minute to figure out how to get both zipper pieces to lock. Once you figure it out, it is easy. I have owned many Samsonite bags over the years, and these are by far my favorite. You can store tons of things in the large bag, but do beware you can go overweight easily. I have noticed that TSA seems to go through my bags more now that I have these. Not sure if that is because they stand out, or if it is due to extra security.

Great product!!!!
Arrived on time and they look even better thank on the photo. They get wider when unzipped and create a lot more space to fit more things. Very resistant to scratches and gals from travelling. Price is great and quality as well.

Lightweight and Fast Delivery
While the orange luggage is not the most attractive looking luggage, you can definitely see it from a mile away among the black, dark blue and grey luggage. It is lightweight, comfortable but I have not brought it for travel to test for durability. It came very securely though from USA to Singapore, so I think it will be quite decent. Glad to get a samsonite at quite a cheap price. :)
