I got this to record track days and autocross for my ND2 Miata RF. First impressions of the mount are good. The magnets seem very strong and the pads are soft but thin. The thin pads are probably needed to allow the magnets to get close enough to the metal for a good hold. The pads are rubber and grippy. The metal “bridge” between the magnets is perfect for prying the mount off. The ball head mount for the GoPro is a bit cheap. Though it doesn’t need to be a massively strong piece as it only has to hold a few ounces of camera. I suspect it would hold a small point and shoot camera that can do video but mounting a DSLR or even a Mirrorless is out of the question as the ball head mount is just too small for that kind of application. Plus the tightening screws are not in very good locations and you can’t get the main one very tight. The secondary screw you need to use the smaller of the two supplied alan keys. That one you can can, obviously, get nice and secure. The two supplied GoPro mounts are perfect fits but not sure why you would want to use the plastic one when the metal one is so much stronger. The tether is a nice touch and if you can secure one end to something solid, I’m sure it would hold the mount and GoPro if the magnets should lose their grip. I do not want to actually test this. The mount works great. Solid and secure and with the tether it should meet nearly all regulatory requirements for track days and autocross.

Works well I’ve taken this off roading and the magnets are extremely strong. The magnets have a protective coating that won’t scratch paint!

The magnet is STRONG! Used it on the hood and my drivers side door and it's awesome! I don't worry about it falling off and it's super easy to set up with my gopro without instructions (it didn't come with instructions - but it's very intuitive and easy to slap together). I like this a lot and can't wait to film more stuff with it and find other cool places to stick it.

Pretty impressed so far. I use it to run a GoPro on my excavator boom while operating an engcon tiltrotator. So far the videos have been phenomenal. No movement, and takes two hands to pull off. I would recommend getting finger extensions tho, so you have more perspective angles.

This was a random hope the for the best buy for offroading. Was looking for something to sit on the front bumper and not fall off as we trail out in the back country. It works rather well and now sits on the front bumper of my jeep even not in use. The magnets are a lot stronger and hold up at highway speeds of 80 to 90 the tie off cable is a nice reassurance just in case it falls off which it did when the front of the jeep ran into a log and just stayed cables to the bumper so we didn't run it over. Will buy another for our other truck

I’m very happy with this magnetic camera holder/mount. I use it to video my off road camping and photography trips. Initially I was very cautious and used it with my GoPro Hero 11. After marking the bumper/mount I slowly drove 15-20 mph on the rough off roads. I checked every quarter mile to check for any slippage off of my front bumper guard. As I got faster I checked it after a mile and then 5 miles. It never budged from my initial spot. I’ve driven now several hundred miles with the mount and it holds firmly. I’m very pleased with the results and would recommend it for smaller cameras. I plan to add my larger camera and see what sort of luck I have.

Wow! What a great bang for your buck. We’ve tried lots of different magnets and this one will always be one of the ones at the top of the list. Works amazing, super easy to use (although the magnet is so good that sometimes it can be hard to get off!), the quality and versatility alone are amazing!
