Don't Buy The Ramblin' Records version!!
This is a fantastic Cd, if you buy the correct version. You want the Shout Factory Version. The Ramblin' Records version has a different track listing and on the one I bought, the last two songs were scrambled. I would just make sure to stay clear of this and you'll definitely enjoy this Great album.

Just outstanding. MTB at their peak.
So very thankful someone recorded this and other live MTB shows. Anyone who saw them ‘’back in the day’’ knows that their studio recordings can’t hold a candle to their live performances. There is just nothing that will ever compare to Toy’s guitar solos that you just weren’t there on the studio albums. In the past year my wife and I have seen Doug Gray and some guys who call themselves MTB live. God bless Doug for trying to keep it going, but this music, played this way is gone forever. RIP Tommy, Toy, and George.

So Glad These Live Recordings Surfaced
Ah, the live performances of MTB. I love 'em. For me, Toy Caldwell's extended guitar solos on "This Ol' Cowboy," "Searchin' for a Rainbow," and "Blue Ridge Mountain Sky" alone made this album a winner. Toy's ability to pace a solo from a peaceful start to a raging finish is on display in the latter two cuts - brilliant musicianship. To be sure, his solo on 24 Hours at a Time" is killer good, too, as are the solos by all the band members and Charlie Daniels, but that recording (an all-time favorite of mine) has been included in other MTB albums. "The Thrill is Gone" displays Doug Gray's amazing vocal range in a recording from the Volunteer Jam that includes riffs by some other musicians like Dickie Betts of the Allman Brothers Band. This album clearly demonstrates what a fantastic band of musicians the MTB was back in the day. I highly recommend this gem of an album for all Tuckerheads. Until I purchased this album, I'd never heard some of these live performance, dredged-up-from-the-vaults versions of signature MTB songs. I did see MTB is concert years (and years) ago. This album had me wishing that the entire band was still alive and I could do that again.

Excellent live album
This is a great live album from a great band. The songs are from different concerts over the early years. Excellent live guitar not to mention the rest of the band. All MTB fans should have this.

FINALLY!!
Been waiting for this...forever...the original line up...live...tearing it up. Nobody played like Toy Caldwell. One of the best live bands I ever had the good fortune to see. Recorded mainly on their one and only European Tour in 76...this CD grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. Ramblin' and 24 Hours are the same from the Where We All Belong album but no matter...this one is a keeper....advice? Play it LOUD!You can have fun I'm telling you can...when you stomp your feet to a hillbilly band!

its good enough
only one song seems weak vocally and even that is not that bad its worth getting special guests charlie daniels and dicky betts makes this even better perhaps not the greatest versions of these songs that they ever did but its a live "best of" so yeah go ahead and get it

A Tasty Slice Of Southern Rock
If you like what you've heard of Southern Rock and you're looking for something outside the big names, I can give this excellent live album a strong recommendation. The band have their roots more in country music than in the blues like the Allman Brothers Band but Doug Grey has a yearning, soulful voice which I like a lot. Of course there is a star guitarist, but this time only one. Toy Caldwell is the name and he provides lovely, flowing lines that complement rather than consume the songs. The band has another featured soloist in the shape of flute and saxophone player Jerry Eubanks and I love the contrast with the guitar leads. This album was mainly recorded in 1976 although several songs come from 1974 and it is very much a live "greatest hits" style album.I write a specialist blog about live albums and my poll for the best Southern Rock live albums is dominated by The Allman Brothers Band and their "Live At Fillmore East", Lynyrd Skynyrd and their "One More From The Road" and Little Feat with "Waiting For Columbus". I agree that all of those albums are essential and show some of the variety of southern rock but none of them sound like The Marshall Tucker Band. This albnum is getting some support but not as much as I think it deserves.Do yourself a favour and listen to the mp3 samples at Stompin Room Only: Greatest Hits Live 1974-76Stompin Room Only: Greatest Hits Live 1974-76

Southern by the grace of god.
My best mate went to this gig, at the Palace Theatre, Manchester. I wanted to go, but my mum wouldnt let me , coz i was too young, 14 years of age.Hes been going on about it ever since! Wot a twat! Anyway,i bought the album and its pure, unadulterated, southern rock.Anyone who loves the southern thing will love this. Its not Skynyrd,Outlaws, ZZ, 38 Special or Hogjaw, but its southern royalty. Enjoy.

Südstaaten-Country Rock vom Feinsten....
