With the same shaving cream and with the same razor but with this bowl (instead of another one), the shave experience is dramatically better - producing a better lather and getting a better shave. I cannot imagine getting a better lather -- would likely get a better shave with a different razor. Definitely , the bowl s able to retain water heat and whatever coarseness is there on the inside is perfect for producing a good lather. Even when I have by mistake left too much water on the brush, the lather still comes out a lot better than with the prior bowl. But, now I know how much moistness to leave behind on the brush and I get a perfect lather.Holds my brush comfortably; the size of the bowl is perfect for my brush (I will update with the size of the brush soon). For best results, I fill the bowl with hot (hottest) water. Soak the brush with hot water and leave the brush in the bowl for 15 to 30 minutes. Then squeeze and shake to get most of the water out of the brush. Add Nivea cream to the bowl and generate awesome lather.Looks good, is heavy (but not extremely heavy), fits well in my hand.Could it/should it have been priced lower? I think, yes. But I knew how much I was paying for it and I am totally satisfied. Hence no hesitation in giving it five stars.

I wanted something that provided that nice look and lather you need for that good ol’ fashion shave.Pros• Great quality bowel that leaves zero doubt in its ability to deliver.• The bowl is thick and nicely cut providing that eye candy some desire.• Quickly warms up and keeps heat.• Makes that lather quicker than ordinary bowls. (In my case)• The price I paid ($29.95) made this an okay deal.Cons• It is just a bowl, so that price may be a downside.I believe this to be a solid product so far with no regrets of the purchase at this time. This is a great product at a very reasonable price. I have been using this for the last 6 months and am very happy. I shave after showering so I fill it with hot water before showering so it gets warm so when I mix up the soap (TSE Tallow Shaving Soap) It builds a warm thick lather. It feels very solid, is easy to clean and is very well made. The outside is smooth but not slick. The inside has a texture that makes working up the lather very quick and easy without making cleaning difficult. I just rinse it out and blot with a hand towel. The size is perfect for holding while working up the foam and it is heavy enough to stay put when picking the lather up with the brush.It's a quality of life product that provides a bit of enjoyment to a mundane task.

Moved and lost (misplaced?) my shaving mug and finally got around to searching for a new one. I am pretty picky about this type of stuff, so I wanted something that wasn’t cheap looking, had a classy feel to it, and worked well. This shaving soap bowl achieves all of that.It is remarkably heavy in the hand (which is a good thing) and looks great sitting by my sink. But nice appearance only counts if it works, and this bowl is exceptional. The inside is textured just perfectly to build a great lather when rotating the brush over it. The heavy marble like material hold the heat wonderfully. The result is a huge amount of hot foam both on the brush and in the bowl.You poor people that spend money on shaving cream in cans/tubes just do not know what you are missing. Get this bowl, get some nice shaving soap, run some warm water into this thing and work up a great hot lather. It is life changing.

Very well crafted. Has a nice weight and thickness to it. Creates a quick and nice lather. When it comes to heat retention. It doesn't keep the shaving cream has warm as I would like it but is fine enough. Might be a bit pricey but if taken care of. See it last a lifetime

This bowl strikes a nice balance between size, heft, heat retention and texture inside. It makes building up a well hydrated lather very easy as compared to the smooth ceramic shaving bowls. While you may be axles to get similar features from other products for less money, in my case this has been a zero regret purchase.

Exactly what you think it is. Good solid build quality. I do believe it's real marble. You can tell it's handcrafted, and holds warmth well. Makes great lather. Classy and elegant. Bought this because my old shave cup had logos on it, and I wanted something more age appropriate. There are no logos on this. Would recommend. Oh, and they shipped it in a custom cut Styrofoam protective box. Arrived in top shape BECAUSE they cared enough to pack it correctly. Well done.

Great quality. I have had other shave bowls and this one is the best. Best lather. Bowl stays warms and so does the lather. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.
