This bowel helps produce a Hot luxurious lather!!! First, I intended to review this bowl a long time ago, but I wanted to be sure I gave it the thorough review it deserves. The first bowl I received had a beautiful marble pattern, but it had a crack that was obviously patched at the factory. I contacted Beau Brummell, and a gentleman named Daniel requested a photo of this unusual occurrence. He immediately acknowledged that this was unacceptable, and sent me a replacement. They even allowed me to keep the bowl! It makes an attractive change bowl on the mantle. I call this superior customer service! Thank you Daniel. The replacement bowl wasn't quite as pretty as the first, but is still nice (luck of the draw). Now, let me tell you, this bowl is heavy and retains heat extremely well to produce a nice HOT lather!!! I love it! See the pic. That temp probe was in the lather, and not touching the bowl. It went much higher when I touched the bowl (I have to hold it with a wash towel). I just ran Hot water into the bowl (yes my hot water is HOT!!) for a minute, poured most out, and started whipping. It feels SO good, to rub that into my beard!!! The only con for this bowl is, those rings on the inside are kind of rough, so if you have a pretty /expensive brush, you might scratch the HECK out of it if your not careful. Other than that minor problem, I LOVE THIS BOWL!!! Buy one NOW, and enjoy the same hot lather that I do!!

This is a great product at a very reasonable price. I have been using this for the last 6 months and am very happy. I shave after showering so I fill it with hot water before showering so it gets warm so when I mix up the soap (TSE Tallow Shaving Soap) It builds a warm thick lather. It feels very solid, is easy to clean and is very well made. The outside is smooth but not slick. The inside has a texture that makes working up the lather very quick and easy without making cleaning difficult. I just rinse it out and blot with a hand towel. The size is perfect for holding while working up the foam and it is heavy enough to stay put when picking the lather up with the brush. It's a quality of life product that provides a bit of enjoyment to a mundane task.

I wanted something that provided that nice look and lather you need for that good ol’ fashion shave. Pros • Great quality bowel that leaves zero doubt in its ability to deliver. • The bowl is thick and nicely cut providing that eye candy some desire. • Quickly warms up and keeps heat. • Makes that lather quicker than ordinary bowls. (In my case) • The price I paid ($29.95) made this an okay deal. Cons • It is just a bowl, so that price may be a downside. I believe this to be a solid product so far with no regrets of the purchase at this time. I will update this review if any issues arise with the product.

This shave bowl's ability to quickly create luxurious lather is unmatched, by far! The rough textured interior creates lather the moment to brush goes to work. It is incredible. I submerge this bowl and my brush in hot water while I shower. Gobs of warm rich lather is literally formed in seconds with this bowl. It is heavy, but it is easy to grip and hold onto despite the nice smooth wet marble exterior. For shave-den afficionado's, this muted thick black marble bowl is a piece of "Zen" and "Art" just sitting on the counter. Also, I don't know about you, but shave bowls that are too smal annoy me like crazy. This bowl is a good size. Not too small, and not so big that you can forget your 'curls for the girls' workout of the day. A real nice addition to my shaving accoutrements at a reasonable price. 100% Satisfied.

Very well crafted. Has a nice weight and thickness to it. Creates a quick and nice lather. When it comes to heat retention. It doesn't keep the shaving cream has warm as I would like it but is fine enough. Might be a bit pricey but if taken care of. See it last a lifetime

I've shaved with it twice. Before shaving, I let it sit with hot water for about 5 minutes. It definitely kept the shave lather warm. It fits nicely in the palm and feels very sturdy. I'm careful when holding it because it would definitely break if it was dropped. The internal ridges help create a rich lather. This was a luxury I gave myself but I think it was worth it.

Great quality. I have had other shave bowls and this one is the best. Best lather. Bowl stays warms and so does the lather. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.
