All you would need to get a modern web-based application off the ground.
Great walkthrough to get a React app up and running with Firebase as the back end. All well documented with clear explanations. By the end of it, you'll have a fully functioning web app with routing, social sign-in options that you can then build upon for your own project. Basically all you would need to get a modern web-based application off the ground.I've only been learning React for about 3 months, so it was good to see some patterns I'd not come across (or stayed away from) such as Higher Order Components. The book is well structured so you're learning and understanding the code as you go - you're not just copying it verbatim! You might write out a block of code and understand what is going on with it, then later you'll come back to it and totally refactor the code to work better with other parts of the app, or maybe so you can reuse the code better elsewhere. If the book had the code initially as the final perfect version it might be too much of a leap to understand in one go. Coming back and amending the code helps with the overall understanding off the app and makes the intent clearer. The book provides a great example for understanding how to interact with the Firebase API. This really helped as I found the Firebase documentation a bit difficult to understand without a good example to go off.Highly recommended!

All you need to create a React App with Firebase
This book provides a really clear guide on how to build a React app with Firebase, which can then be used as the foundations of any real world project. The great thing about this book is the way you are shown how to build a basic structure, then refactor it at a later stage to improve functionality. In this way, you get a good understanding not only how, but also why the code is implemented in the way it is. Despite this approach, the book progresses quickly and ensures interest levels remain intact.Important: If you buy this book, make sure you email Robin to get access to the online version and resources. Details for this are included in the FAQ section of the book.
