Elijah's Xtreme Hot Sauce (Elijah’s Xtreme Reaper Hot Sauce)

So... This stuff tastes freaking amazing. I must be broken though, because I'm not really feeling much heat from it. I've used half the bottle since I received it yesterday. I just ordered a bottle of Xtreme Regret that will arrive tomorrow, and if they hit the flavor on that one like they did with the reaper sauce, I have a feeling that I'm going to be very satisfied indeed. This is a sauce that I'm going to be coming back to quite often I believe. Apparently this review counts on the same page for both the reaper and the Xtreme Regret. So as far as the regret, amazing, and plenty hot. Gonna be my go to from now on.

My favorite hot sauce. The flavor is amazing, smell is amazing, and is nice and spicy. I would not say it is quite a 4-5 level spice as advertised, but definitely spicy. The container makes it hard to overdo how much you use, and is easy to clean and use. The amount is worth the money.

I Love the balance of favor and heat in this sauce. At first I wasn’t sure of the sauce intent so I kept trying it out from egg rolls to fish, from BBQ, chicken, and prime rib. Even fries and onion rings. The bourbon, black cherries, and cranberries make this sauce smooth as silk. The Carolina Reapers have enough bite to say don’t forget about me, but it isn’t a lingering heat, but just enough to remind you that it is a hot sauce. Together it’s like a Smooth Jazz concert with a funky bass line compelling you to pat your foot to the beat. The heat, bourbon, and fruit combined together is a Masterful art of craftsmanship. This Father and Son duo has a Great understanding of blending flavors which shows that they must have a Great relationship with each in this labor of Love to craft a artful sauce of this magnitude. They should consider making a larger bottle similar to the large bottles of A-1 sauce because once you get rolling your Happy face will turn to sadness because it will be time to order more which will take a few days to arrive. I want to thank Amazon for carrying such a fine product. I have ordered FIVE bottles, TWO for myself and the rest as gifts to people in my influence to reintroduce them to the civilize side of hot sauce. It puts me in the mind(I don’t smoke),of firing up a good quality hand rolled cigar, scented candle, a fine meal, and a shot glass on the side of this sauce to slip slowly to receive every note of favor it has to offer. If I had 3thumbs they would get 3thumbs up as well as Both Big Toes. Great job fellas! LTSr

It’s more sweet than it is spicy, but it tastes good.

Another review noted that this tastes peculiar. I think that that is a great word for it. Not in a bad way. It has a combination of flavors that didn't seem to go together at first. It's very different from other hot sauces that I have had. When I first acquired this hot sauce, I wasn't a fan, despite having tried it in the store. The heat wasn't what I was expecting when I applied it to food, as it retained its sweetness and complexity but lost a little heat. You do taste the fruit and vanilla notes. You actually get the hint of bourbon in it. So, despite being a sauce made from reapers, it may not be as hot as you expect. If you're chasing the endorphins and are accustomed to that end of the spectrum, this will disappoint. It's hotter than tabasco, certainly. As time went on, this sauce really started growing on me. I like it on foods with neutral seasonings, like mac & cheese, I bet it would be a good as a mild buffalo wing sauce. It doesn't go so well with pizza and foods with Italian seasonings, as the flavors sort of clash. I also add it to tacos, but I don't season the taco meat very much.

I love heat in my food. I have found it very difficult to find a good hot sauce as either the heat is minimal or just heat with no flavor. I usually have to make my own sauce in order to have good flavor and heat combination. Typically using the failed sauces I have bought and adding spices or other ingredients to make them acceptable. I bought this because a friend said it's really good. I ordered it figuring I would have to just have to use it to add to one of my own sauces like all the others I've tried. I was astounded at this sauce. The flavor is unbelievably. The heat was slightly lower than I expected... wait 10 seconds. Oh there's the heat. It creeps up on you. The heat was never overpowering, just really good heat and great flavor. My friends all say I make great hot sauce, but I think this blows mine out of the water. Highly recommend!

For a hot sauce that is advertised as Carolina Reaper this is a very mild sauce. Very, very sweet! Heat wise it was a huge letdown . It is definitely not . The sweetness overpowers the sauce as a pepper sauce tauted as being the hottest. The taste is good but just too sweet!

For the Xtreme Reaper: I was looking for an extremely spicy sauce that doesn't sacrifice flavor and let me tell you that despite me not liking whiskey, the subtle burbon flavor is spectacular. One of the most flavorful toppings I've ever had. However I don't believe that this is 250,000 SHU, I'm not even sure this would break 100,000 SHU. This is a low heat sauce in my opinion. If you can handle sriracha you'll be able to handle this, it's pretty subtle, at most leaving a slow burn on your tongue when you're done eating. Despite all of that I am happy with this purchase and will no doubt finish the bottle in a months time. My next purchase will just have to be their hottest sauce.
