Caution may cause addiction, in a good way
What can I say but round of applause Mr Haywood. I laughed, cried, laughed some more then was left full of adrenaline in the last quarter of the book. Like slipping on a comfort blanket, he becomes the conductor of an orchestra of the heart and mind, he takes us along on a fantastical journey with some of the best literary characters ever. Day 25 is the dogs danglees

Just gets better and better
I love this series and another amazing book from The Boss. The characters are enjoyable. You laugh with them, cry with them, feel their pain, anger, joy, fear, love...its a roller coaster of a ride and a thrilling one too.If you are reading this review, then maybe you have already read the other books and don't need me to tell you how amazing RR Haywood stories are. Or maybe you are coming across this review without having read a single book of this series. Whichever one you are...read 'the undead series and by book 25, you'll have not only gained an amazing source of escapism but you will have gained a family in the RR Haywood fans community.Enjoy the read!

Compelling, atmospheric, can't wait for Twenty Six.
The Heat. One of the skills of RR Haywood as an author is his ability to make you feel what the characters are feeling. I truly felt the heat & the pressure as much as they did.I thought using the diary entries, allowing us more of a personal insight into some of the characters was inspired. On a purely selfish note I hope that this series never makes it onto the screen (although I would love to see the Extracted series made) , I don't think they could do it justice or keep in the realistic touches that make it so compelling. Are there any production companies brave enough to have their characters stop for a poo (yes, we're looking at you Jack Bauer), or take a break to brew up? They are such realistic touches (if you read accounts of the Normandy campaign the US troops complained that the British squaddies just stop to brew up every couple of hours) and I love my fantasy to be realistic!Looking forward to the next installment to see if what I think will happen does.

Best series ever
This series gets better and better with every book written. Fact. The story gets stronger and stronger with every book written, this one introduced a new perspective of story telling in the form of main characters writing a journal and it worked exceptionally well to tell the story. Something different in a familiar story world. Cannot praise this book or the entire series high enough! Best.day.ever!

WOW
I've been reading the Undead series from Day 1 and with each new book I think that the author can't make it any better - and each time I am wrong ! The Heat continues the journey of a disparate group of survivors and warriors battling armies of the Undead (and sometimes each other) risking it all and winning and failing as they go. This latest instalment was my most favourite yet with an action packed adding adding an epilogue which made my jaw drop! This series is told with enormous humour and humanity (as are all the author's other books) and my only slight criticism is that he doesn't write them fast enough !

Best yet....
Am still trying to breathe. This series just gets better and better and darker and darker. 25 gives the reader a real look inside the minds of some of the key characters and if there're fewer of the laugh out loud one liners, there's a deeper connection being created. As ever, you're left gasping for breath and hungry for more. Thank you, Boss.
