Griffin A-Frame Tabletop Stand for iPad, ipad2, ipad3 and Samsung Galaxy Tablets

I've been using my ipad alarm clock to charge sometimes, and a knock-off ipad 2 charger that I also had purchased from Amazon here. The knock off charger really stunk since they did a poor job with it, and I wanted something else to use when I put it on my shelf to charge, without having to buy apple's charger.Looking at the pictures I couldn't figure out how the charger cable fit, since someone else's review mentioned a "cut out" and clearly there was no cutout. But the inner space at the bottom that the ipad rests on is shallow from side to side, so the ipad rests on it on the front edge, but still has room underneath to have the charger cable sitting right there (I posted pictures to show just how it fits).It's a nice, non slip feel when it's sitting in the stand, and the stand is a nice, solid piece of metal. Non-slip grips on the bottom protect whatever surface you have it on.Only thing to be aware of is when putting it in or pulling it out, to NOT tip it since it's very easy to scratch things up on the bottom back of the ipad if you slide it along the metal of the back brace.The space in the back "leg" is narrower than the ipad charging cable end, so it's easy to run the cable through there, and then let that keep it from falling behind the bookshelf this is on when the charger isn't in use. Would've been nice if they had a slight notch in the bottom of that backrest that the cable could've fit in though, but not enough of a concern to knock off a star.Really like the product. My ipad looks good on there, and now my son, who has my original first generation ipad, wants one of these stands for HIS since it looks so much nicer there than his looks in the apple dock.

The A-frame is a solidly built, quality product. The rubberized, no-slip spots are in just the right places. The only way to make the A-frame move is to hit it or push it with adequate force. Or, perhaps, set it on a block of ice. Point is: as long as you put it on a decent surface, it's not going anywhere once you set it up with the iPad on it. You can also lay it down and have the built-in software keyboard at a very decent angle for typing.It has a rubberized slot for the iPad to sit in, too. So long as you're careful to set the iPad in the rubberized "trench," it's not going to slide off. It won't stain or mar the iPad; it's a nice, clean support.The iPad sits well both in portrait and landscape modes. Using the charger cable with it is no problem at all. (Anyone expecting it to work with the iPad dock is smoking something funny: it's not *designed* to do that.) So long as the A-frame is set at a proper ergonomic height - as intended by design - there's nothing to disappoint. Use it appropriately and you'll fall in love with it.Add (as I did) a couple of accessories and you'll be even more impressed. For example: I also bought a Griffin Flexgrip, which gives the iPad some protection and a nice rubberized grip. Put the iPad in the Flexgrip, set the iPad in the A-frame, and the iPad's not going to slip - even when tilting the iPad/A-frame combo on the desk at about a 45-65 degree angle! Throw in an Apple bluetooth keyboard, and you get the perfect combination for typing long documents - or reviews, like this one.I'm using the A-frame the way it was intended - at a nice ergonomic height - and I'm just thrilled.I can't think of a single thing that's wrong with the A-frame. The design and materials are awesome. I give it 5 stars; I'd give it 10 if I could!

Try to save a few bucks by buying refurbished from Ocean Reef Electronics . Big mistake! Received a poorly used item, seller should have listed this as "used - poor condition" not "refurbished". The metal parts of the item are scratched and has scuff marks all over, also missing the rubber foot of the back stand. I have to return it for a refund, a $9.50 item for a $5.00 postage at my own expense. I would have keep it if it wasn't such an eyesore. Well! a waste of my time and $.I would rate the seller 1 star and the item 3 stars if it's in new condition.Pros - Sturdy and well made, good size.Cons - Heavy, sharp edges on metal part that could easily scratch your tablet, no adjustable angles - the back stand doesn't lock into places, it would be ok for use on a flat surface but not over your lap or body while you're in bed.

Quality and construction are great. The metal parts of the stand are well finished and compliment the silver back on the ipad 2. The rubber parts keep the ipad from getting scratched and are also high quality. The stand folds flat and works great for traveling.The stand is nice for watching movies. It is great for use with the apple wireless keyboard. My wife sets it up in the kitchen when using recipe apps... The uses are endless. If you are looking for a simple well-built little stand for you ipad, this is a great device. Sometimes you buy stuff like this and it is cheap and finds its way into the depth of some box never to be used again. This little guy, on the other hand, was well worth the price and gets regular use.I cannot think of any drawbacks and have owned it for about a year.

This is an awesome stand. I've sold Apple computers and iPads for a living for the past 5 years. Our store used to carry this stand. We had one of these set up in our retail store for a year or more and eventually sold the floor demo model. It was in perfect condition a year later even though it was subject to being opened and closed numerous times and retail store abuse. Honestly I was sad to sell the demo model because it was great product. Few companies make things to this over engineered quality.I bought this online for my girlfriend to use in the kitchen and she loves it (we as use it in the camper when we are camping). I call her the destroyer so I knew I needed to get her something bullet proof. When you are using a touch screen it needs to be able to support the top of the iPad when you are tapping near the top of the screen without tipping off the stand. All the other stands on the market are too short and are nowhere near this build quality, even if they are aluminum. The bottom rubber grip really helps keep an iPad in place as well. It's also quite accommodating as far as the size of the rubber grip on the base is concerned. You will be able to use an iPad in most cases with this stand. It was originally designed for the very first iPad (which is a tanker). Don't worry and iPad Air or Air 2 will also work well with this stand. This stand is big enough to even support the newest iPad Pro.The only concern you may have w with this stand is, it is a tank. It folds flat so it won't take up too much space and it won't break. It would be perfect for taking to trade shows etc, but I wouldn't want to haul it to school every day :-).Bottom line this product is great value at $45. Don't cheap out. Get this one and you will have zero regrets. As iPads and other tablets change in size and dimension, this stand should be able to accommodate them.

Ordinato il 5 settembre, ho ricevuto il pacco il 9 settembre.Cnfezione ben strutturata come si vede dalla foto.Le dimensioni sono 27x15,5x3,5cm e il peso circa 500g.Il materiale è un robusto alluminio satinato, simile a quello Apple ma un po più ruvido a tatto.Le parti che sono a contatto con l'ipad sono in morbido silicone.Il lo uso per iPad, ma può sostenere tutti i tablet in commercio.Per quanto riguarda l'uso si percepisce subito una sensazione si robustezza e si può inserire l'iPad in verticale o in orizzontale.Come da foto illustrativa mentre è inserito l'iPad in verticale si può tranquillamente inserire il cavo di ricarica/sincronizzazione.Unica note negativa: potevano aumentare di qualche grado l'apertura in modo tale da "coricare" di più l'ipad.Inserisco qualche foto per rendere l'idea comunque a questo prezzo aprofittatene.Nell'ultima foto lo paragono con un altro supporto.

Diese Halterung ist sehr gut verarbeitet und robust. Ich habe sie lange Zeit regemäßig für mein iPad in meiner Tasche gahbt. Inzwischen nutze ich sie zu Hause für mein Macbook Air (Zugeklappt mit Monitoranschluss).
