Sands of Time Catacombs: Cavern of Soloth

I sadly thought this was the original game, so now I have the DLC all dressed up with no where to go T_T but I know the game is fun so one day I will be able to play it

If you played the video game Gauntlet growing up you will enjoy this game. 1-4 players square off against a Catacomb Lord who attempts to thwart the heroes in their progress through this dungeon crawl. The movement and combat of the game is accomplished by flicking wooden disks across the board trying to kill the enemy before the enemy kills you. You go through multiple rooms to get to the end just like a good dungeon crawl. If you have fewer than 5 players the good guys will double up on some characters so that there are always 4 heroes and 1 catacomb lord in each game.

If you enjoy the Catacombs base game, then this expansion is a no-brainer. Order it right now. You get more monsters, more items, more room cards (sadly no new room templates, though), a ton more Magic Items, and (best of all!) MORE CHARACTER CHOICES! And these are decent choices. It is quite hard to sit down and decide between your 8 options now.If you even only kind of like the mechanics of this game, but wish there was more variety, this is the expansion to fix that problem for you. It is well worth it.

This is going to sound like a parody review. It's not.Caverns of Soloth is one of the best expansion packs I own for any game, pouring gasoline on the fire of my love for Catacombs. So much gasoline. Anyone who designs games should buy this. Anyone who plays games, or has considered playing games, or who needs a new centerpiece for fancy dinner parties? Buy this, buy Catacombs.

a ton of new monsters, lots of assorted items, 4 additional classes that add a lot of extra mechanics. if you like the base game this is a very good addition to it

my nephew likes it
