My Picky Eaters Last Resort For Not Starving
These freeze dried beef patties are a life saver for me. My dog is so picky at what he eats, if I didn't have these patties for him he would starve to death. Their easy to serve, I crush them up and serve them on a plate at night. About 1 out of 6 bags I purchased was dry but my dog still ate it. For my budget the bags are little expensive but my dog eats it and doesn't starve.

Here's why Stella & Chewy's rocks!
I currently have small 3 dogs who have each eaten Stella & Chewy's since they were adopted, and an immunocompromised foster puppy who's been on it since she came to us a few weeks ago. Barley is 2.5 and has been eating it since he was a puppy. He has PERFECT teeth, a coat like molten silver, and crystal clear eyes. His weight is perfect and he's never gassy (which is great because he sleeps practically on my head sometimes). Mr. Growley was 4-5 when we adopted him almost 2 years ago and had an itchy coat, constant gas, and some tooth tartar and decay. Since he's been with us his skin has cleared up, his coat is snow white and thick and soft, he doesn't have gas (thank god), and the tartar on his teeth has actually gotten better without any brushing or dental work. Molly was 5 pounds when we got her, somewhat emaciated, and was supposed to be 2 years old. Since she's been with us, just over a year, she grew 4 pounds (!!!) and is a stocky, but not fat, little bundle of bossy energy. We're assuming she was younger than 2 and had some growing to do, but the difference is amazing. All 3 of the dogs have great breath (for dogs) and very firm, not stinky poop. Being small dogs they sometimes have accidents in the house but you can NEVER tell it's happened by the smell - it doesn't smell at all (weird, huh!). You don't know until you see it. Baby Girl is a foster and has been with us for about a month (she belongs to the rescue Leave No Paws Behind). She's about 10 months old and came to us eating whatever the vet was feeding her. She has a genetic immune disorder called dermatomyositis. Her skin was in terrible shape, her eyes were inflamed and runny, and she was very underweight. She had significant hair loss in certain places too. Demodectic mange was ruled out. For the first week I fed her canned puppy food trying to get some weight on her. She STANK. She was so gassy that she'd fart when she squatted to pee. She had runny poop. It was really gross. I decided to hell with the cost and put her on Stella & Chewy's. She wouldn't eat the frozen, but went crazy for the freeze-dried. Almost right away the gas and runny poop stopped and her eyes cleared up and looked less inflamed and her skin got much less red. After the first bag was done I switched her to a different brand (I and I Love You) and the results were disastrous. Within a day or two she was itching and scratching, her eyes were gummy, and worse, her skin was breaking out again in little sores and scabs. It was bad enough that I took her in to the vet just to check. I threw the rest of the bag of that food and put her back on Stella & Chewy's. Within a day or two she had vastly improved, her skin had returned to a light pink instead of red and begun to heal, and her eyes were bright and clear and she was back to her energetic puppy self. Luckily she has now started to eat the frozen version, so that will reduce the cost by about half, but I'll keep the freeze-dried on hand just in case. I just cannot say enough good things about Stella & Chewy's. I was laid off a few months ago so money is tight, but we decided this is one place where we will not skimp. There is just such a difference in the dogs' condition (for the better) when they're eating Stella & Chewy's. Disclaimer: I am NOT affiliated with Stella & Chewy's and have never received anything from them. I just really love their product! Did I mention our cats eat Stella & Chewy's too? :)

Great homemade raw substitute for traveling and backpacking
Update 8/25/16: we still love our S&C for traveling, but we ordered duck duck goose this time and 95% of the bag was powder. There were only a few actual patties and the rest was disintegrated. It made measuring amounts extremely difficult and our one dog, the picky guy, isn't a fan when food is too mushy and didn't enjoy this bag as much. Our dog used to be the pickiest dog ever no matter the type of dry or wet food we gave him. He also had runny stool and an upset tummy for the first year of his life (vets couldnt find anything wrong) until we discovered freeze dried raw. Stella & Chewy's was the first food he actually enjoyed eating and gave him firmer stool for the most part. We knew we wanted to transition to homemade raw food and did so about 6 months ago. He gladly eats homemade raw food, has finally put some weight on, has firm stools, and is healthier and more energetic. We believe raw is the healthiest way to go, but it isn't always practical when traveling, backpacking, or camping. We've found that our picky guy likes Stella & Chewy's, Primal Nuggets, and another similar products. He refuses to eat freeze dried raw that has individual ingredients like Honest Kitchen or Sojos. Stella & Chewy's is cheaper than Primal so that's the main reason we decided on it for times when he can't eat real raw. Since it's freeze dried, the patties are extremely light and great for backpacking since he carries his own food and water. All you have to do is crumble up the proper number of patties for your dog, add water (I usually add enough to cover them completely, then drain off the extra) and serve. Dog food advisor rates Stella & Chewy's very high, so you know it's a good quality as far as commercial food goes. I usually stick to the beef, but there are a few other flavors I sometimes buy. I personally stear clear of the chicken and turkey since they've had a few recalls in the past. It seems like it's isolated to the bird flavors though. The last time we got a 25oz bag I counted out 54 patties. Our dog burns a lot of calories, so even though he's 30 lbs he needs about 8 or 9 a day to barely maintain weight. If he were to eat this food only it would cost us a fortune, since the large bag would only last about a week. If your dogs smaller or if you're looking for a great traveling food for your raw fed dog you can't go wrong with Stella & Chewy's Beef Patties. My dogs go crazy for this!
This is a clean, healthy, dog food! I blend it in my food processor and use it as a coating for my regular daily dog food. Sometimes I just break them up and into smaller pieces and give them to my dogs as a snack. They go crazy for this dog food! Itโs also cheap cheaper on Amazon then I found any place else, especially if you do subscribe and save.

My dogs love these patties.
I cut pieces off of these disc's and feed them to my chihuahuas for breakfast. They like it dry. They always eat it with gusto.

Buddy's favourite dinner choice!!
Buddy loves his dinner 'pucks' whole....not crumbled, not wet.....whole. Amazon needs to package Stella & Chewy's beef patties in a box for delivery. These patties can crumble easily and with any rough handling or under something heavy will crumble easily. So, sometimes I have a lot of crumbled patties at the bottom of the bag and Buddy won't eat crumbled patties. What a waste$. Please Amazon, improve shipping packaging. Buddy says thank you.

Dogs love them
We have two dogs, a 4-year-old and a 2 year old, and they are both very picky eaters. They absolutely love these patties! We will take a chunk off and rub them between our palms to make a powder, and sprinkle them over their food. Definitely makes a big difference in what they will eat. Also, a much better price point than the smaller ones. They are quite easy to break up or make into a powder worth the extra work for the price point.
