This is a rather cute, clean and handy little machine. I got it for my small apartment (approx 3 times the size of the machine’s recommended range). Nonetheless, it’s actually done a great job cooling the whole flat down. When I move it from the bedroom to living room, the bedroom still stays cool for a while. Despite many reviews about the noise, I found it no louder than a regular tower fan on the low setting and perhaps a bit noisier with the high fan setting. Personally, I would be able to sleep through either just fine. The only improvement I’d be happy to see is a fan swing function but since the cooling is as efficient as promised I don’t find this to be an issue. Worth adding that for the first day, I didn’t even use the external pipe well (the included fittings don’t work well for my pull-in window style) and it still did a great job cooling my flat (and definitely the room). Given the number and extent of heat waves that are increasing all the time I’m sure this is going to come very handy! I’m already immensely glad to have this. Final point, it arrived two days early and just the morning after I ordered it so I was over the moon as it instantly improved the quality of my life. With a cat at home, I was also worried that it’s too hot and now I can rest easy knowing my cat is comfortable.

I have only had this unit operational for a few days. Bought in anticipation of more heat waves to come. At the time of writing we have hit the hotest May of the year. it was very easy to instal and comes with the facility to fit different types of windows including a top opening window. I have not bothered yet to enclose the window frame with the exclusion fabfic that prevents air coming back into the room via the open window surround and have just poked the tubing out of the window. I'm glad it comes with a 1.8mtr ducting most of the others I looked at were shorter and would not have been long enough and are probably designed for lower level opening windows. It's easy to operate using the remote control, although I have not checked all the options yet. On the slow setting the noise isn't drastic and you get used to it as background noise after a while. Had the unit been quieter I would have given it a 5 star rating. Having made that comment I have just purchased another unit for my bedroom.

Really useful item certainly cools a room quickly. We bought it for my mother who is in a care home which needs heat for many of the rooms but her room was also in full sun all day. She is ofter warm due to her meds but this works so well we need a coat to visit her Hose is just long enough to reach window and the part to fot it into is plant large enough for most normal sized windows It can be a bit noisy when working flat out. The unit is a nice size similar to a kitchen bin and moves really nicely.

I’m baffled by the positive reviews. Has a motor sound that is nearly intolerable, like a really old refrigerator motor thats about to blow out, except louder. Decibels are ranging from 55-60, which is very close to unsafe. Doesn’t cool a bedroom at all. The smell is probably the worst part. It’s like a poisonous glue smell and makes you feel ill. It gets worse and worse as you run it. My entire house smells of glue. I’m stunned by how poor this product is vs the reviews online and on Amazon. Having a hard time understanding why anyone would make a product this useless and why anyone would pay hundreds of pounds for it. What am I missing?

Delivery driver left this very heavy and valuable item at the main door of the apartment building without calling and without getting in touch. My elderly parents had to struggle with this heavy package upstairs. The product is fine but the delivery process was not good for this reason. Please consider the customer needs when delivering something heavy like this. It’s unfair on them.

I bought this so that I'm ready for another hot summer, also the reason I bought meako was 1) a British company and spares are off the shelf. 2) I have a Meako fan & a dehumidifier and are both over 2 years old and run perfectly with never any issues

It’s noisy but does the job- a this price point I was satisfied it wasn’t going to be the quietest on the market. Great to be able to buy British! Set up easy. I have standard top opening bedroom upvc windows- had to fashion my own fitting to get it to vent out of the window- why do my manufacturers never provide suitable fixings for this. No big deal- I’m diy handy ! It was such a relief to be able to get cold and sleep comfortably during the heatwave so we’ll worth it every penny ! It’s comparatively compact so is easy to store (once vent tube taken off) glad I have it- even if it’s only for a few days/ nights a year.
