Tangle Teezer Salon Elite Detangle Hairbrush, Dolly Pink

I'm a guy with medium-to-long length, coarse Asian hair. In the past, I never really used brushes often because they're generally difficult to work through my hair. Now, I use the Tangle Teezer, sometimes as a prep before using an Isinis boar bristle hair brush, but often on its own because it's easier to clean and generally less fussy. I originally heard of the Teezer on Dragon's Den, a UK investment show. I think that might've set my expectations higher than they should've been. Looks: This thing comes seriously overpackaged in a large colourful box with a see-through front and a Union Flag printed behind the brush. Inside the box, along with the brush, were a flyer with set of instructions, a smaller flier with cheery-sounding haircare tips, a small advert for the product, and a mass-print thank-you note from Shawn P., the inventor. I'm really not used to receiving so much junk mail with my brushes. Maybe it's normal, but I just found it a bit excessive. The photo gives a good idea of how it looks. Nothing overly special. The brush is machined in two parts, one part is the base with the bristles and the other is the handle. You can see the lip where the two parts join up. Mine came with two or three of the bristles bent slightly out of shape. Not a huge deal, seeing as there're so many, though. Also, mine kind of "opened" a bit when I tapped it on the counter, but it was easy to snap it back in place. I just pressed it back together and it popped like a tupperware lid. Use: With this brush, you're encouraged to use a bit of force. The little hooks on the bristles actually do better when they're pressed and dragged through your hair. The brush works well, but because I need to use force and my hair is coarse, it's smooth body sometimes slips out of my grip. That problem could be solved simply by adding some ribs to the side, so maybe they'll do that. Overall, the brush feels good on my scalp and works at detangling hair. Results: Since the base that the bristles sit on is hard and flat, and you're encouraged to really press on your hair while brushing it, hair looks sleek and modern. As a guy, I'd say the closest look I could describe would be "clean emo" or "Justin Beiber". It compacts the hair together, especially on my front fringe, leaving it shiny and almost too uniform. My other brush, which I use after this one, adds a bit more volume to my hair and character to my hair. Clean Up: This brush is easy to clean, which is why I sometimes use it alone. Rinsing it under the tap causes most of the gunk to just slide off. It does take a while to dry though because the bristles are so close together. Twice a week, I clean both of my brushes using shampoo and a Denman's hair brush cleaner. Nothing extraordinary to say, really, it cleans as you'd expect a brush made of slick plastic to clean.

I got this yesterday and used it last night for the first time then my daughter used it this morning. I've had a problem with massive hair breaking for awhile now and I wanted to see if this helped. Both my daughter and I have waist length curly hair that is so hard to brush through after a shower. This brush is amazing. I think that this is the first time in my 40 years on this earth that it hasn't hurt to brush my hair out. My 11 year old said the same thing this morning after brushing hers. There was very little hair in the brush when I was done brushing (as opposed to massive amounts in either brush or comb depending on what I was using before). There were only a couple of strands stuck in the brush when she was done brushing. My 8 year old daughter who has stick straight hair that some how still manages to get caught into nasty snarls used it on her hair dry this morning and couldn't stop talking about how awesome it was. It took a bit of getting used to when I was using it. Not didn't feel like it was going all the way through my hair to the scalp, which made me feel it was getting all of my hair. I kept brushing though and it wasn't long until all of my hair was detangled. It's kind of a miracle brush for us.

I purchased this to use on my daughter's hair - she's 3 and 1/2 and still has very thin, baby-fine hair although it's now quite long and we are constantly battling tangles and snarls after baths and when she gets out of bed in the morning. I had been using J&J's leave-in conditioner to help get the tangles out, and it helped, but we still had to work at them with the comb a bit before they all came out. With this brush there is absolutely NO need for any de-tangler or leave-in conditioner, and combing/brushing her hair took only about 2 minutes rather than the 5 or more it usually takes. It works just as well on wet or dry hair, and leaves her hair smooth and silky, it even works great on my hair which is much thicker and has a lot of body to it. The brush even feels good, it's like getting a scalp massage while you brush, and it fits very comfortably in your hand (an adults hand, it's a little big for a child's hand). I only wish I had found this long ago, but am glad I have it now and we no-long have tear-filled combing sessions twice a day, and I'll be saving money since I no longer need to buy detangler to use on her hair. A fantastic buy - highly recommended for all hair types!!

Great brush for thick, curly or unruly hair (can see it being great for kids & extensions as well; neither of which I have. So just a guess). I have very curly hair, which means I can only brush it when it's wet or I'm in the shower & brushing through my conditioner. I've traditionally used a wide tooth comb but depending on how much of a hurry I was in, how tangled my hair was & my patience level that day; I noticed I was damaging my hair by trying to quickly/aggressively comb through my hair. While venting to a friend one, she told me about this comb. If she hadn't talked to me into getting it; I wouldn't have taken it seriously. It looks like a dogs chew toy or something that would squeak! Even when I got it in the mail, I was skeptical. The bristles look so flimsy & I was wondering how in the world it was going to be able to tackle my hair. But it actually performs amazingly well! You could comb through even the most tangled hair with one stroke! I have way less hair loss in the Tangle Teezer than any comb or brush. Can use it dry or wet. Since it was recommended to me by my girlfriend with African American hair & she has very thick, natural hair, works great for different hair types. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the shape or lack of a handle is a bit annoying. Not sure why they can't have a version with a handle? And since all I do while blow drying my hair is stand with the blow dryer over my head, I can't comment on how effective it would be for blowing your hair out.

I have long, thick, wavy hair and this has been a god send. I used to brush my hair with a regular brush after the shower and would rip out so much hair struggling to get the brush through but this has cut down on that. It is very ergonomic and fits great in either hand. I noticed i don't shed as much hair when i use this product as opposed to a regular brush or comb. It also is gentler on tangle and works through then and doesn't rip through your hair. This product also is very easy to clean and doesn't get build up of hair or product on it like my regular brush. It can pull apart if you really needed to clean it but i haven't needed to do this yet. I just pull the few strands of hair out and thats it. Would recommend for anyone with thick tangly hair.

Can't tell the difference between this and the bamboo/wood brush by Bass I was using before... I have very fine, super long hair (touches my butt) and this was no miracle worker for me. There are shorter bristles overlayed by longer bristles. The short bristles just glide over the hair without actually brushing anything and the longer bristles were constantly snagging bits of my tangled hair. The tangles would then tighten and turn into knots. I've tried using it on wet, semi-wet, and dry hair. I found it works best on fully dry hair that doesn't have many tangles. If you have long, fine hair like me, don't even try on wet hair, it was impossible for me to run the brush through wet hair and even when i gently pulled on it with short strokes it either gets stuck or pulls and breaks my hair. I was so convinced by the reviews.. but honestly, just get a wide tooth comb if you need a brush for wet hair. Sad because I wish it'd work.. :(

I heard about this product from an acquaintance of mine. I didn't believe that it could be such a amazing product. I have long thick Middle Eastern hair that is semi curly and I didn't think any brush could tame it. I have never been so wrong! This product worked wonders. I use it all the time I bought my sister one. I no longer have any problems with tangles. It don't hurt as much at all. There is little pain or stress of having so many overwhelming tangles anymore. I had to coat my hair in conditioner and then brush it out. Now I can just go in the shower and brush it without using loads of conditioner to untangle it. I absolutely love this product and show it to everyone. My friend liked it so much she bought one as well. Brilliant product. I don't care much for the ratings that involved children. I am an adult I wanted it for myself and it works, period.

Our tangle teezer arrived today! My youngest daughter who is 7 years old and has a head full of tangles could not put it down. She loves this brush and how smooth it made her hair look and feel. The tangles were gone in just a few strokes. Normally she will not brush her hair after a shower or any other time for that matter unless she is forced to because she hates the pain of trying to get the tangles out of her long course hair. Nor does she ever let me comb her hair without screaming. She happily let me comb her hair and sat their relaxed and actually enjoyed having me brush her hair. This is a first. After putting her to bed I quickly ordered 2 more for backups. This is easily a 5 Star!!

This brush is nothing short of amazing!!! I have the knock off Goody tangle fix brushes and they were pretty good at combing wet hair. But this brush is way way better! I comb my super long hair about three times when it is wet and it dries so straight and detangled and shiny! I can also use this on dry hair and I couldn't with the Goody ones because they felt like my hair was being ripped out. I have really fine textured hair, but a ton of it and this does a great and quick job of brushing through it all.

J'ai des cheveux vraiment très épais, et très long ( au dessus des fesses), qui s'emmelent sans arrêt, et le démelage de mes cheveux était une vrai corvée ... Non seulement c'était long (un bon quart d'heure pour tout bien demeler), mais surtout ça tirait beaucoup, et mes cheveux cassaient aussi beaucoup, et ne parlons même pas du demelage après les avoir lavés. J'étais assez septique au début, et c'est vrai que le prix peux un peu rebuter au premier abord, surtout pour une brosse, mais au vu des commentaire j'ai testé, et je ne regrettte pas du tout ! Plus de noeuds après le passage de la brosse, pratiquement plus de casse, un demelage nickel en 2 minutes, même sur cheveux mouillés, et tout sa sans tirer les cheveux . Après c'est vrai qu'il faut parfois repasser 3 ou 4 fois la brosse au meme endroit étant donnée l'epaisseur de mon cheveux, mais c'est pas génant vu la facilité de démelage qu'offre cette brosse. J'ai fait tester à plusieures filles de mon entourage et elles ont toutes été concquises, même ma cousine de 5 ans qui est d'habitude très difficile a coiffer parce qu'elle craint beaucoup n'a pas bouger ! Tellemet contente que je vais acheter aussi la tangle teezer compact pour pouvoir la glisser dans mon sac a main, et la tangle teezer splash pour la douche .

What to say about this wonderful and amazing product. It is like a blessing to me for my daughters frizzy and tangled hairs.
