A Cake to Bake (Disney Princess) (Step into Reading)

My 4 year old checked this book out from the library. She loved it so much, the Easter Bunny put it in her basket. It's a quick, simple read. It incorporates 2 of my daughter's favorite things - princesses and baking. There's not really much of a story...each princess has a few pages dedicated to baking her favorite treat. We've read it many times and it's a good addition for a book lover! It's also a great early reader. The words are easy, there aren't many words per page, and the mini-stories are short enough that even a beginning reader could get through one in a sitting.There are a zillion of this type of book, but this one is our favorite. We love looking at the pictures and picking which treat we would make for each other on any given day!

My granddaughter loves to bake and this book was great for her. She is 6 years old and thinks she is a grown up and loves to help out in kitchen.

Not the kind of message we want to share with our kid. Merida is baking and asks her brothers for help, but they just want to play. She works hard. When the cookies are ready, her brothers eat them up -- nothing about "hey, you didn't help so you don't get any" or even "you can eat the cookies, but you need to do the dishes!" Nope, it's along the lines of "these boys can just run and play while Merida bakes." The Tiana section says she loves baking, but she REALLY loves baking for Naveen! Meh, it's just a bit too subservient for our liking.

I've owned this backpack for over a year, but only used it a handful of times for travel. As I was packing today, I zipped closed the front pocket and pulled the zipper right off. After reviewing the construction, it appears the zipper was never sewn in properly. Too much time has passed for me to return/replace the item. Very frustrated!
