The ideal ice cube tray!
LOVE these ice cube trays. So much easier to get cubes out than traditional plastic trays. And they don’t break like traditional trays!!If you have arthritis or pain in your hands these ice cube trays WILL be easier to use than traditional trays, if you follow the provided directions. You don’t need a lot of strength to get the cubes out, like you do with traditional trays. The only negative about the tray is that they DO take longer to freeze than traditional trays. But they are more than worth the wait. We have a ice cube storage container, so that helps to keep us in ice. But we are thinking of purchasing another set of trays.Cubes are smaller than traditional ice cube tray cubes, but there are more of them so we don’t have any issues with cube size.It does take some adjustment to transition from the traditional trays to these, because this is an improvement on a already good product. But these trays ARE a HUGE improvement, and should last MUCH longer!Tips about the trays:Wash by hand first, then run in dishwasher before first use.Get ice cube storage container! You can flip the ice cube tray out into it, just make sure you push each cube out with your finger gently: they will not fall out at once.DO NOT FILL TRAY BEYOND 3/4, it will make the cubes harder to get out and will take longer to freeze.

Over time developed smell
These ice cube trays are a nice color, and I liked that they were made of silicone over plastic. The cubes are fairly easy to pop out. The lid is not really to prevent water from leaking (it's not a tight seal, just sort of sits on top), but it does allow the trays to be stacked or have things like bags of frozen veggies set on top of them in a small freezer. You do have to hold the bottom to place them in the freezer as they are not rigid like plastic. The major downside is the smell. After about six months, the trays developed this terrible freezer burn type odor. The food in my freezer isn't freezer burned and nothing in there smells that I can tell. I mostly have bags of frozen fruit or vegetables, some frozen dinners, and some mason jars of homemade frozen soups and stews.I don't know why they smell but not only does the taste get into the ice (I've only ever used filtered water in them) but the smell is so overpowering that once I wash them and leave them on the dish rack to dry, when I come back the whole kitchen smells with this odd odor. That makes them (and anything near them) pretty unappetizing.

Works well to pop the ice cubes out, but it leaves a residue on the cubes. When they are put into a drink, they leave a film over everything so I haven't been using them very much.

I received this item in a timely manner. I have been using these ice trays daily since I received them. I love them! I bought the two inch by two inch silicon ice cube trays on an earlier purchase and have been disappointed with them as they are difficult to remove from the trays. I decided to take another chance with the smaller cubes. I have not had any trouble removing the cubes from these trays. Just put slight pressure on the bottom of each section and they slide right out. I would recommend these to anyone who asks and would buy them again if the need arises. Thank you for these trays.

I wasn't too sure if I would like these ice cube trays but I am now happy to say that I am. The individual cube slots coupled with the softness and flexibility of the silicone makes it really easy to take out ice cubes out one at a time. Also, this control helps keep the ice cubes all falling out and landing on the counter and floor. The cube compartments are a decent size, relatively the same size in volume as standard ice cubes but the shape of an actual cube (square). The only thing I wish was different was the lid. The current lid simply sits on top. The lip of the lid turns down around the lip of the tray but I wish it was tighter. But I haven't really had any issues with it as far as spillage or freezer smells getting into the ice cubes.

Perfect for Freezing Baby Food
I ordered these to freeze homemade baby food and they are perfect! It is very easy to pop the food out and into a ziplock bag. And I saw several reviews saying they had a white film on them after washing. For me, one did and one did not. For the one that did, I cleaned by hand and wiped away the film. It hasn't come back as of now.I think a lot of the film issues people experience is from the dishwasher. We used to get it on everything but when we changed up our detergent and rinse aid it is rare that we get it now.

My grandmother had old plastic ice trays that were a pain to use whenever I'd want ice. It made me wary of ever getting any. However, after moving into a new apartment with no ice machine on the fridge, I knew I'd have to shove down my fears and just get one. After much research, I nervously bought these. Turns out I had nothing to worry about. Sure, the colors are a little garish, but this is one of the cases that function over form is what truly matters. These deliver and then some. Yes, they sometimes have an icy film. However, that's because they're filled too much. Just pour some water sideways into the sink and wipe the reserve on top off with your hands and that shouldn't be an issue.

Leaves a white film behind.....no thanks. And lids don't seal, just sit on trays.
After multiple washes, soaking, using tap water, filtered water, store bought bottled water I've asked to return these. They leave behind a white powdery looking but slippery film on our glasses. I tried throwing out repeated batches of ice hoping it would stop, it did not not. I can't imagine that this is good for me. Also, the lids are too big and don't seal.
