Perfect for tea and travel
This is exactly what I was looking for. I just recently started drinking tea (had to give up coffee). I didn’t want the hassles of using a tea kettle to heat the water so my stainless options I already have weren’t an option. And since I wanted to be able to travel with it, another check in the box. I microwave the water to make the tea. Some reviews mentioned the beverage cooling off too quick for them. That doesn’t bother me. I can reheat or just drink room temp. The rubber sleeve is a bonus and feels nice in the hand. Some of the colors I liked had a smooth sleeve. I much prefer the diamond pattern. Makes it look more interesting. I bought a second one but had to buy an ok color to get the diamond design. Some other reviews mention lack of flow through cap. I don’t find that to be true at all. But I don’t gulp, I drink or sip. ☺️. The pictures I’m providing are in the cup holder in our rv as we are moving down the road. All in all, I highly recommend.

Love it
I was looking for a ceramic travel mug without a handle that I could use with the shoulder-strap-style drink (tumbler style) carrier/holder that we also purchased on Amazon. There were not many options for the style of carrier that fits this type of travel mug (most were for the huge ones) and there were not many options for ceramic travel mugs without handles, so the fact that the two items pair perfectly is delightful! Now I can tote coffee around with me (in a real ceramic "mug", not metal or plastic) when working in the garden. The lid is good quality and easy to use and clean, not the lightest weight, not the heaviest weight, but midrange. I'm very happy with the mug, the lid and the sleeve. The cup/mug is well made, no chemical smells, no flaws of any kind, came with a tag (seems like a real ello product) and is good quality, looks exactly as shown in photo. If I had found it locally and felt and seen the quality I would have definitely still purchased. (Not that this cup is around here) The return policy made me feel confident, in case it was cheap or arrived broken. But it's good and arrived perfectly. The quality is better than expected, as hoped for. It compares to what one might expect to find in a place where they have good quality kitchen wares. The only thing I would change about this ceramic travel mug is (nothing except) that it would be for it to be available in more color options. :-) If they made it in true green, I would buy another. I got the purple one shown and it is as shown and looks nice. The combo of the ceramic with the grippy no-slip sleeve is pleasing. The grippy sleeve fits nicely and goes under the outside bottom edge of the cup so if you have it on a slippery surface it's okay. It's got grip. You can set it on top of your vehicle while putting groceries in and it stays fine. Plus, it won't scratch or scuff the surface it is set on.Since it is ceramic, I pop a basket style tea strainer in and make a one drink coffee in this without a coffee maker. Remove that, empty the grounds into the compost and delish coffee to go.The pastel colors make these especially good Spring and Easter gifts, just don't forget to fill with candy! hahaIt's looks nice and functions well. Very happy with this travel mug. Recommend.

Great Mug! Travel Friendly?
The mug itself is excellent. Thick, heavy and sturdy. Large enough for an extra large coffee. Third party verified lead-free, which is what's most important to me. I will say, the company that does the verifying is not exactly known for their stellar reviews, but in a world where everything comes from China, you gotta just do the best you can do and hope it works out. I'm not going to NOT have a coffee cup. Plastic leaches, Stainless can leach nickel and cadmium (and potentially have lead in them, and they give off a distinct taste), foam cups are pure poison, Glass is gonna break, look man just buy the mug ok?! The silicone sleeve gives a nice grip, insulation to keep the heat inside the cup and off your hands, and a little protection for bumps and minor drops. They say it's non-toxic, I doubt they'd hire a company just to lie for them. Just buy it man. Stop staring at the bright screen, losing sleep over it, this one is safe, buy it, then you can take your time doing more research. I'm talking to myself mostly, because that's what I do.The lid, is... terrible. It's just... no. When it's bone dry it looks and feels like it'll stay nicely in the mug. As soon as it accumulates a single atom of moisture from your drink or the morning humidity, it slides around and sits crooked in the cup. I bet if you're driving and hit a good enough bump, your drink could splash the lid right out of the cup. So, "leakproof" is not a word I'd use to describe this product. Ever. The mouthpiece slides and stays put nicely, but the way it sips is going to be a big matter of preference. You get a small, sort of aerated sip, as if you're very carefully sipping a piping hot drink. Maybe that's your style but once my coffee cools down a few degrees, I gotta pop the top and take a normal sip.So I guess at the end of the day, ceramic just isn't my favorite travel mug, but this is my favorite ceramic travel mug. For the best taste and the peace of mind, it's either this Ello or I'm going back to my stainless mug.

Love this travel mug.
Loving this mug. 💕 Spent lots of $ on travel mugs in my life. So far I like this one the best. Pros - ceramic (I like to drink my coffee out of ceramic opposed to metal or plastic). Cool rubber grip that gives you better gripping power as you head out the door. Easy to clean ! No more nasty travel mugs tops with impossible to remove, bacteria laden congealed coffee slime deep inside lid somewhere. To remove the slider gentle pinch in the plastic on the underside of the slide. Clean then pop back in. (See pic). Stylish colors that go with my kitchen. Cons - I don't have any. this mug is not for you if you need super hot coffee for an hour. This keeps it hot for not much longer than a regular mug. I must drink my coffee within 10min so that doesn't bother me. It will break if dropped just like a regular mug. If you like to throw your mug on the seat or in a bag it's not for you. The lid makes a nice seal, but just enough so you don't get your coffee spilled while in the car or walking around with it. Price was better on Amazon than @ my local Target.New addition to this review- I did purchase a 2nd mug in the darker blue color & - different pattern. As seen in pic, the gray one is slightly taller in size to the blue one. Also the rubber sleeve on the blue one is on very tightly & not removable. Where as the gray rubber sleeve is more loose & I am able to remove it when washing.

Not A Great Purchase
The build quality is great. It's super sturdy and I prefer to drink out of porcelain. However, my drinks don't stay hot because the lid does not fasten tightly to the cup. This also makes for spills. The liquid will definitely spill out if tilted. Why??????? All in all, it's just a coffee cup and I'm not going to return it. If I had it to do over again, I would not have purchase it.

Love the ceramic lining - much better for flavor.
I purchased this because metal lined mugs gave a sharp taste to my tea. Having a ceramic lining definitely is better, just like using a cup at home it doesn't impact the taste and cleans nicely. This one is really heavy. I like the exterior grip and design. It fits fine in my car cup holder. I agree with some who indicated the lid design is a bit more loose but I have not found that to be a problem, it might be if I was using it more for sport or during activities. For regular use I highly recommend this ceramic lined mug especially for tea drinkers or those who notice metal taste impacting their drink.

I Wish I Got an STD Rather Than This Mug!!!
This mug is one of the worst experiences of my life, and I have seen illness, death, natural disaster, and poverty. When the mug arrived, I washed it. This did not change the fact that it smelled like the Chinese factory that mass produced it is also churning out benzine and insecticides. I filled it with filtered water, and put it in my purse. The lid was firmly secure, and the mug was never tipped more than five degrees from a right angle. This mug LEAKED from the seams, the sliding mechanism at the top, and especially from where slide tab intersects-it was like a garden hose was let loose on my body, my bag, and my car. I had no time to literally mop up the damage, so I had to sit through a meeting looking like I urinated all over myself for over an hour. When I got home, I spread out all my things from my purse, like my day planner and my notebook, like accordions so mildew wouldn't fester. But still, all these things are warped and the ink has run. But wait, the SUCK MUG wasn't through ruining my month. The silicone housing is carefully designed so that water is trapped within its many labyrinthine protuberances and folds, so when I tipped it over to drink from it, it also attacked my laptop and the clothes I'd changed into. Nicely played, Hell-o.As others have pointed out, the Ello mug is heavy as a brick, and of course you don't want to put it in a cup holder or bag as it will turn into a property-destroying geyser of water or coffee. It doesn't insulate worth a d**m, and within thirty minutes all of the ice is melted, or conversely, the coffee is lukewarm. However, your coffee will give you second degree burns before this happens. I know this is subjective, but the suck mug is also hideous. It looks like 70's paneling. Others have noted that the mug will spontaneously break. I haven't experienced this yet, but I am sure that is the next unpleasant surprise-clay made of floor sweepings, cremains, and heavy metals sending explosive "pottery" shards into my chest and neck. Ello should send a mass shipment of these mugs to ISIS, after which they will all die of frustration, dehydration, and mold inhalation. I spent three hours looking for a mug that didn't taste like metal or plastic that I could put my hand into all the way to the bottom for through hand cleaning, which apparently rivals the cancer moon jump in its lofty challenge to mankind.

Exactly what I was looking for. (Note: not leak proof)
I've had this about a month and have used it 4 or more days a week. I've used it for both hot and cold coffee. I was looking for something ceramic as I do not like drinking coffee out of metal to-go mugs. I have a similar type ceramic mug, but it's only 10oz and I run out of coffee too fast and have to refill. This 16oz size is perfect.Portability:I use this mug mostly around the house - on the patio in the morning, or around the house if I'm moving around busy while I'm drinking. The "splash resistant" lid is fine for my use, but it is definitely not leak proof if that is important to you. The silicone is "grippy" enough that I feel secure holding it. I can take it in the car as it does fits snugly enough in the cup holder so that it doesn't lean. It's not something I would take on a walk, though.OF NOTE: It is fairly heavy - 20.55oz by my food scale. My regular 16oz ceramic coffee mug is just over 12oz on the scale.Hot/Cold Use:It keeps cold drinks cold longer than it keeps hot drinks hot, but by the time I'm at the bottom, it's still warm enough to be drinkable.Washability:I always hand wash mine. It's just easy to do. It says it's dishwasher safe and maybe someday I'll try it. I haven't taken the silicone sleeve off, but I gave it a tug to see how easy it would be. It felt like it would take a little work. That's good in that it stays securely on the mug!Other:I bought the "Honeydew" color and I really like the soft slightly earthy green. The ceramic is a satin finish and smooth. The lid fits snug. You need to give it a little push to make sure it's tight, but I've never had it come off. It opens and closes easily and gives you plenty of room to drink while not so much that you overdo it and splash it all over your face. :DI'm happy and would buy again.

My new favourite mug
This mug is just about perfect. Ya it’s not leak-proof with only a pressure-fit lid, but I didn’t expect it to be so that part doesn’t bother me. The lid doesn’t dribble when I drink and that’s the only leaking that would bother me. I got this mug to use in the house as I have mobility issues and cannot easily get up to refresh or heat my tea, but I still wanted a ceramic mug to preserve the fresh taste (versus the metal travel mug I had been using). This mug is the perfect size and shape and keeps my tea quite warm even in the basement office, which is usually a chilly 17°C. It’s a solid/heavy build, is very easy to clean, and the silicone sleeve keeps the exterior comfortable to hold even with very hot liquid in the cup. I’m very happy with this purchase!

Super pleased with this
The heft, the size, are both great. The silicone feels nice, the lid is one of the nicest lids (just a little small on the mouth-opening for me, but it's minor). It looks great, and survives modern appliances which is a great feature.
