What are the exact physical dimensions and specs of these glass fuses?

These time-delay glass fuses measure 5x20mm (0.20 x 0.79 inches) and are rated at 1.25 current capacity and 250V. Please measure your existing fuse holder carefully before ordering to ensure a 5x20mm fit.

What is the difference between a slow-blow and a fast-blow fuse?

Slow-blow (time-delay) fuses tolerate brief electrical surges, such as when audio gear or motors start up, without breaking. Fast-acting fuses blow instantly when current limits are met. Always match your device's spec.

What devices are these 5x20mm slow-blow fuses commonly used in?

They are frequently used in audio receivers, subwoofers, preamps, ceiling fans, small appliances, and electronic circuit boards that experience temporary start-up power surges.

Can I use a 250V rated fuse in a 125V application?

Yes! The 250V rating specifies the maximum voltage the fuse can safely handle. It can safely be used in lower-voltage systems (such as 125V or 12V) as long as the current rating and 5x20mm size match your original fuse.

How can I confirm that my original fuse is a slow-blow type?

Look for a "T" prefix on the metal end caps (such as T1.25A or T1.25AL) or terms like "time-delay" or "slow-blow" in your manual. An "F" marking indicates a fast-acting fuse instead.

Mission impossible

I set out on a mission to replace a single fuse in a water meter that is electronic. Little did I know I would have such a difficult time trying to locate one. When I did find a place that sold them, I had to buy a minimum quantity of 50, 75 and one place 700. I still had to buy five here but the cost was negligible. ... Besides, now I have a few spares.
