Kaiame Naturals Natural Deodorant (Tea Tree) with Activated Charcoal Powder, All Natural and Organic Ingredients, No Aluminum, Parabens, or Phthalates

TL;DR: All natural ingredients! Excellent all day fragrance. I do not sweat and there are no harsh chemicals. A little more different to apply than most other deodorants. Pros -Every ingredient is natural -Every ingredient is an antibacterial -Prevents sweating without aluminum -Works all day long including after high sweat workouts Cons -You have to use your fingers to apply -Outside temperature changes its form due to its natural ingredients I live in Arizona so the need to say temperatures get HOT is not necessary. I recently switched to a paleo lifestyle and by doing so, naturally I want to get away from artificial products. Deodorant is known for their antiperspirant aluminum characteristics that is common to prevent sweating. As I went on the hunt for natural products, I bought almost every item that Whole Foods had to offer before I started to look online since none of the store bought brands worked for me. I did some research to find ingredients that were antibacterial, as to maybe create my own deodorant. I ended up making my own for a short while until the oil in my creations started staining the pits of my shirts. I decided to go onto Amazon to see if I can find a deodorant I liked when I came across Kaiame Naturals deodorant. I looked at the ingredients and I could not believe that every single one was naturally antibacterial. It was shocking to me because I had never seen a deodorant that contained ONLY natural antibacterial ingredients. I purchased the deodorant right away and I have been using it every day for the past couple of years. Now that I have been through a couple of hot summers, I can say that for me, this is the best deodorant I’ve ever used. Let me repeat, not the best natural deodorant, but the best deodorant I have ever used! There are some not so pleasant parts to this product, but it comes with the “natural” territory. Since this substance can change forms in temperate (which they clearly label on the outside of the jar) they cannot put this product in a standard deodorant stick. Because of this, to apply this deodorant, you will scoop it out of the jar with a provided stick and using your fingers, apply under your arms. Since it can change its form, during the hotter months, the oils will separate from the solids and it is required to stir when received, then put in the fridge for a few minutes to merge them again. If the temperates are cold, it will harden and you will need to breath some hot air on it before you can scoop it out and spread it under your arms. Otherwise it will crumble instead of spread. Although the application is not ideal, and the initial temperature takes some time to get used to, I find it well worth the trade offs. I have been using this product for a couple of years and I will continue to use it because it is the only deodorant I have found to work without any chemicals in the heat of Arizona.

I've been using this product for about 2 weeks now and I have to say that I really do love it. My partner is currently away on business which is perfect for a hygiene experiment in case it goes awry. I sweat a lot, as in I'll start sweating through tshirts after having it on for maybe 20min regardless of if it is warm or cold outside. I'm the person at the gym that leaves puddles of sweat on the ground and you can clearly see the outline of my body on benches. To say I was a skeptic is putting it mildly. I did a benzoite clay mask on my pits before switching (can't really say if it helped or not, but it made me feel like it did). Tried it out for a few hours during a heavy cardio session - no rash, no BO smell, no pieces of deodorant falling off onto the ground, no clumps. Still a skeptic as it was only on for a max of 3 hours. Tried it again the next few days - during 95degree days; put a pea size on and went about my day at work and then to the gym afterwards. Usually I reapply deodorant before the gym just to be curtious; as an experiment I decided not to. Got about an hour into my workout and started to smell (thankfully it was about 10pm and no one was there). Now I reapply just a little bit after work before i hit the gym and It works great!! My shirts are not stained with deodorant, and I'm not as bothered about not smelling like deodorant fragrances as I thought I would be. And I finally don't have to deal with clumping deodorant on my pits!!! Naturally this is NOT an antiperspirant so sweat is a bit more than usual but that's natural and I feel better during my workouts. After I shower for the night I usually just follow up with tea tree oil on the pits to dry them out properly - and no smell or extra oils like when I used aluminum based deodorants. I'll buying this again and subscribing to it shortly; I'm quite happy with my purchase. I recommend this completely! The only other aluminum-free deodorant I've tried was Tom's and it did not work as well for me; but I LOVE THIS PRODUCT.

I have tried many all natural deodorants, and this is the best one I have ever tried. Obviously it is not antiperspirant at all, but the charcoal powder absorbs extra sweat you may have. The back of the bottle is a great descriptor, and I am all with it. Lavendar essential oil and Tea Tree essential oil both have very powerful qualities. You can research them for more medical info. The Lavendar could be considered more of a feminine smell than the Tea Tree oil, and Tea Tree could be considered more masculine and is the most powerful antimicrobial essential oil out of all of them. The bamboo scraper they add is a great tool to measure out the Kaiame, and a full scoop is enough for both armpits (less if you shave your armpit hair, had it removed, or are naturally hairless). I love having my pits "free", and not feeling clogged by the wax of traditional deodorant bars. And using a paste also means I can use a little more on my right pit, which tends to produce more smell. The paste can ball up and there is a very mild difficulty transferring it sometimes. It can ball up and get disconnected from the rest of the Kaiame, but that also makes it easier to pick back up if you drop a small piece. I also had a rim of coconut oil on the inside of my last order of Kaiame. I could've mixed it all up, but have a sense of satisfaction from witnessing the undisturbed Kaiame deodorant in relation to the deodorant that has been stirred up. I don't know if they could make this product any better than it is. Please try this if you haven't yet! This deodorant is a powerhouse at keeping you healthy and smell free.

I like the product, I didn't have to warm it up or do anything, it is easy to apply in room temperature and will start melting on the skin. It has a minor scent that you can only smell if you sniff the bottle, but will not smell it when it is applied. So, it won't make you smell good, but it prevents odor pretty well, so it won't make you smell bad either. It doesn't stain your clothes. My biggest reason for not purchasing again is that the bottle was finished within a month; too quick for the price.

I started using this after my pregnancy when I had...”weird hormonal” odor and after my concerns of aluminum in other deodorants. I don’t want cancer! So I gave this a whirl and have never looked back. Seriously. It’s easy to use, I literally smell GOOD, (like the opposite of bad) all day long even after a serious workout. This stuff is literally AMAZING. Once you get over the hump of, "eww weird paste deodorant", you will never look back. After some research, I understand that the product works better with your bodies chemistry the more you use it. I can attest to that! I have literally bought this 33 times and used it for the past 5 years. I don't stink, I don't notice sweaty pits if I AM perspiring, (even though apparently this product isn't an anti-persperant) and basically it's the next best thing since sliced bread. My husband, sister, and mom use it and the best of all, I know I'm using a natural product on my body. If I need a freshen up, just reapply. (I'm a fan of the tea tree scent) This stuff is amazing and I’m glad I found it at the price compared to other options I’ve seen on Shark Tank for twice the amount. Basically I just need to know how the company can adopt me as a spokesperson cause I will never use another product!

I tried this product product for 4 months. It works great at preventing odor, one of the best natural deodorants I've tried. However, the product looks gray on my fair skin. I also didn't like the gritty texture. So even though I smelled clean, my pits felt and looked dirty. Pros: Little to no fragrance Did not break out skin Had little to no BO at end of day (I applied once in morning after shower, and once before bedtime) Cons: Price (one jar lasted one month) Gritty texture Looks gray on fair skin Tips: I stored the jar in my shower caddy so that after showering, the product was pliable and easy to spread. I used the top of my finger to scoop out product so that it sits on top of the nail bed instead of getting under the nail.

this is the first and only natural deodorant i've used that works very well, has not caused skin irritation, and does not stain clothing. i have tried maybe 10, or so, different natural deodorants, before this one. with each, there was always one, or a combination, of the above mentioned problems. i've been using this deodorant for around 6 months without a single problem. i've only used the tea tree version and can't speak to the scent of the lavender version, but the tea tree scent has very little scent and none that i can detect once applied. one container lasts 10 to 12 weeks of daily use for me. i use my fingers to apply it to my armpit. given that it has to be rubbed on, the application stick seems to simply be unneeded, unless your finger nails are too long to scoop the deodorant out of the jar. obviously, it's not as easy as using deodorant in a plastic container, but using this deodorant eliminates any plastic - glass jar with a metal lid, and the only additional step is washing your hands after applying. without question, with individual body chemistries, there will always be differences in what works for one person compared with another, but having tried multiple other natural/organic/plastic free deodorants, this is the only deodorant i've found that has consistently worked, without any problems. if you have any known allergies, check the ingredients before buying, or using.

This deodorant works great! Comparing it to most non-natural deodorants I've used and the all-natural primal pit paste (which I like very much), it lasts at least several hours longer. Compared to toms of Maine, it works much better. I do not like the tea tree smell, but it is mild and goes away pretty quickly. Unlike most non-natural deodorant, this is not a Cologne-type of cover up. It absorbs and eliminates odor. Primal pit paste does the same, but this works better - I assume due to the charcoal. While on an "inactive day," I would normally notice odor when I change to pajamas, that is not the case with this product, and after a mildly-active day (walking around for hours outside in 75-85 degree weather), I only noticed a mild odor after 12 hours. The product did separate during shipping, which I do understand, considering the ingredients, and the company is very nice to include specific instructions and a stirrer to address this. It was still a bit messy to fix and I needed to redo it a couple of times to get it right. Next time, instead of remixing it in its container, I'll simply empty it into a slightly larger container or mixing bowl (that will be pre-heat to keep the mix liquid), stir it up and then pour it back into its container. If anyone else has tried this method, please comment to my review.
