I use this with a mono in digital recorder, and using an adapter with a stereo in digital adapter. They seem to focus on being sensitive to sound in human voice range, and not recognize sound waves outside of that as much. I pick up less ambient noise using these than more expensive fancy microphones. I recommend for voice recording with older $20 - $30 digital recorders for voice only setting. On stereo recorders of course if you don't use a stereo to mono adapter though, only the left side gets used and right side, using headphones will be mute. But I like these for my purpose. It might be a niche item. But if it does not fit what you originally bought it for. Keep them in a drawer and they may serve an audio purpose somewhere down the line.
