Incredible Value And Well Made And Designed Knife
I'm a former Marine. I have been involved in training/teaching Filipino Martial Arts(that are known to be a blade art) since the 1980's. I like quality knives but I don't like spending a lot of money. Emerson makes great knives but they're out of my price range. This Kershaw Emerson feels so good in the hand and it's well made. I like that I can do limb destructions with the blade closed. I like the blade shape(useful for stabbing or slashing). I like the Wave feature designed by Mr. Emerson that allows you to open the blade using your pant pocket. I also like that I can open the blade with my thumb. I read and watched videos of this knife before I ordered it. The videos and pictures don't do it justice. It's even better looking and functional than I expected. This is my carry knife most of the time. I have Benchmade, SOG, or Gerber knives I can carry but I chose this one because of all the features. These knives have a good reputation for a reason. They're a good value. Lots of knives out there, not many as good as this one for under a $100 in my humble opinion.

Smooth as melted butter
WARNING! This blade comes with a seriously sharpened edge. Upon arrival I inspected the knife for it's quality given the south of $100 price. For its probable uses this knife gives you an affordable yet high quality components fitted into a smaller EDC everyday carry blade. The D2 steel is favorite of mine due to it's a overall Rockwell hardness rating and it's easier of putting a fine edge on it when needed after hard use. D2 is a perfect and affordable steel when a $400+ blade just isn't practical when children need to eat and buying this years schools supplies is right around the corner. G10 scale is also impressive since most knife makers at higher costs are also using it. Stainless liners and a solid lock up are also a plus. The Emerson Wave feature. Here's where it gets scary. First time out of my jeans pocket I cut two fingers and required bandages for bleeding control. Please, practice the opening carefully with what ever pants, slacks, jeans or hikers you plan on carrying this knife in. It's critical to learn this procedure properly without needing first aid essentials close nearby. My first attempt at deploying the blade was with jeans that a bit of elastine in them and pocket stretches when clipped into place. This caused me to struggle a bit since the knife clip is very tight against jeans pockets. Hence the two slices fingers. Aside from needing to practice the deployment of this blade carefully I'm certain you'll be impressed by this Kershaw addition to its manufacturing inventory. Stay safe!

Amazing knife for the price
I have to start off by saying man, this knife is incredibly sharp right out of the box. I found that out the hard way unfortunately, but I can't blame the knife for that. Was using it to whittle a little bit the day it arrived (which it worked beautifully for) and I was a bit distracted (going through a bunch of not great stuff at the moment) and somehow the blade slipped from what I was working on, getting me right in the thumb and right above the webbing in my hand. Didn't share the pic of the gory details/aftermath of that, but you can still see the area of my thumb that's still healing from the incident. To say I immediately knew I done messed up would be an understatement. Again, not the knifes fault. Always respect your tools, or be prepared for a painful lesson. Anyway, outside of the crazy sharp blade, it seems to be incredibly solid so far, as far as build quality goes, and the wave opener is honestly one of the most fun and satisfying ways I've ever opened a folding knife. Ever. I've seen a few reviews with issues such as blade play and all that, but I haven't experienced any such issues myself as of yet. Will update if I do, but as it stands, I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and it's quickly become my EDC of choice. If you're considering getting it, I don't think you're going to find many better knives at this price point, so I'm sure you'll love it.
