typically not salt water. each species of fish eats fish that it is used to, and knows that that fish is food. This is specific to the geographic area the fish is located in. i've been using the procure get and liquids for about 12-15 years for salt water fishes and find they work great. especially the flounder pounder. it never fails to put scent and attractant into the water and bring flounder and also other bottom feeder. The bass gel works fine so far in testing in tennessee where the largemouth bass eat predominantly shad and minnows. its not cheap but works well on artificials that mimic those bait fish.
