I ordered this inflatable shampoo basin yesterday and used it for the first time this morning on my mom, who is bed-bound in home hospice after fighting glioblastoma and colon cancer. I honestly got emotional watching her while I washed and rinsed her hair; without pain, mess, stress on having to transferred to a shower. I use your inflatable Shampoo basin yesterday with the help of my husband. I am bed bound and have been this way for about six years. Previously, I have been able to sit bedside to wash my hair in a basin but an attack of lymphedemia has made that maneuver nearly impossible without taking a bedside shower/floor scrubbing/bed soaking along with it. So what to do? My hair was going on its fifth week of being unwashed and although I wear my hair in a braid and pinned up so it is not falling in my soup and I am thorough in my daily wash-ups: there is this "ick factor" in not having one's hair clean and tidy. My salvation came when I was reading an article on the skier who had been seriously injured with a badly broken leg during the Winter Olympics. Once she was back in the States there was a six hour surgery to fix the damage bones. But she had a wonderful attitude and along with the article there were pictures of the nurses helping her was her hair. (!!!) I carefully perused the captioned on the pictures and found the basin they use was a simple rubber, blow -up object that had been fashioned for that very thing! Thinking it must be a professional item that was probably priced out of reach, I went internet shopping and found the item for less than $20. Once we received ours, it was a dream to use--except for the fact my hubby likes to use lots of water, so the bed DID get wet. I imagine as we become more proficient in using it, the less wet other parts of my environment and me will get drowned. It was comfortable to use, especially if you are stuck sudsing your own hair. The basin, when it is blown up is very sturdy and when you can sit on a level part of your bed or a level table, it is stable and the water retains well. This basin is constructed like a kid's pool toy, so while it has a modicum of strength to it and will hold water easily and safely, you can't put it on a surface with sharp edges on it, allow a child to pull on it, or give your Pekinese a bubble bath without facing some rather wet consequences. Steven had another dish pan standing by to empty the used water. He wiped dry the entire basin, then let it air dry a bit while he cleaned up the towels, shampoo, etc. and put that all away. Then he let the air out of the basin and once deflated, folded it up and up it back in its box and in the linen closet. We have two dogs and three cats all of whom would LOVE to get their paws on something fun like that!! Have a special hiding space if you have prodigy or critters will like minds.

This works really well for my momma who is mostly bed bound and unable to shower. We tried shower cap shampoo for a while. Those are great, but over time without a rinse there is a buildup. This includes an inflatable pillow attached in the bath. We used it and my Mom liked it and was comfortable. She has dementia so anything that makes it easier to care for her is a big help…..

This worked beautifully for my mother. She came home from the hospital into hospice and one of the first things we wanted to do was wash her hair and this device made it so easy to do. She enjoyed it very much. We do need to purchase the portable shower and IV pole but otherwise a very good product.

This product is cheaply made and I don’t think it will last long. There is no pump, so you need to use your own pump. It is very thin and you need to be careful not to puncture it. It does what it supposed to do but not very durable.

My late Mom’s occupational therapist told me about this item. I have to say, it was such a great shampoo basin to use for someone who is bedridden! I was able to wash my Mom’s hair and get it perfectly clean. There is a drain hose on this, and I drained it into a large plastic garbage can. You do need to use something to pour the water on someone’s head to both wash and rinse, but the plastic basin holds a LOT of water. This is an inflatable basin with a spot for someone’s neck to rest comfortably. It does not attach to a sink/ water source, but it has a drain hose for emptying it out after use. It is truly a great item if you want to get a bedridden person’s hair perfectly clean. It is well-priced, easy to inflate, easy to use, and it seems to be very durable. I learned so much from Mom’s occupational therapist about products that were made for someone who is completely bedridden. This is a good one.

My mom is in late stages Alzheimer’s, and bedbound - this inflatable shampoo basin has been life-changing! I use a watering can filled with warm water to rinse her hair, but it’s super easy to pick up the basin and take it to the sink and release the stopper at the bottom for minimal mess

Wir benützen das Becken zusammen mit einem Duschkopf und Wassersack (hier nicht enthalten) eines anderen Produktes. Das Becken ist in zwei Größen (30cm & 50,8cm) erhätlich und ich würde nur das größere Becken empfehlen. Der Abfluss funktioniert bei der größeren Variante wesentlich besser (da das Becken hier mit der Abflussöffnung leicht über die Bettkante geschoben werden kann), was besonders bei langen Haaren und höherem Wasserbedarf von Vorteil ist. Auch ist das Abflussgeräusch leiser (wichtig z.B. bei hoher Geräuschempfindlichkeit). Zudem ist beim größeren Becken der Kopfpolster etwas flacher und bequemer. Beim kleineren Becken muss der Kopf aktiv gerade gehalten werden. Beim größeren Becken liegt der Kopf etwas besser auf. Den Aspekt finde ich besonders für Personen wichtig, die auch kleinste Anstrengungen vermeiden müssen (z.B. schweres ME/CFS). Der Kopfpolster wird separat aufgeblasen.
