Fugikawa Chisel Set, 6-Piece

They are some of the nicest chisels I've used they feel great in the hand super sharp excellent fit and finish seem like they will hold up well

I've been waiting on these for a couple weeks now and let me tell you I'm not impressed. I've been using harbor frieght chisels for some time and I finally felt I was experienced enough to spend a little money on a set of high quality chilsels. I can say I'm impressed with edges and the quality of the steel but the handles aren't even set all the way into the Tang and when I pulled the 1/4 inch chisel out to try it out the strike ring fell off🤔. Thought they would be alot better quality.

...need their hoops set before using. The "strike rings," as another reviewer put it, are not meant to be struck directly. Their main function is to prevent the handle from splitting. There are plenty of youtube tutorials and blog posts on how to set the hoops, but the general idea is to allow for a few millimeters of the handle to project past the ring and then hammer on the end of the handle to mushroom the wood over the hoop, which keeps it in place. Also keep in mind that, as expensive as they are, these are quite cheap for hand-forged Japanese bench chisels, and shouldn't be considered "high-end." This is Fujikawa's entry-level series, which makes some sacrifices in terms of fit and finish to allow for such a low price point.
