Are the two parts solid or hollow aluminums?

The outer parts of this mahl stick are made of thick aluminum and the internal parts are hollow. But this is sturdy and will not bend easily after a long time.

My Extension rod won’t screw in? Doesn’t look like there’s a threaded end for it to screw in? Please help!
