Q: does this test the battery under a simulated load of a hearing aid?

None of the paperwork that came with it claimed it applies a load. But, to be honest, the load of a hearing aid is so modest that I don't think the lack of a load will make a great deal difference in the reading. If it reads in the yellow, replace the battery and avoid a failure at an inconvenient time. I'll acknowledge that Batteries aren't cheap. But, given how much the hearing aids help and what hearing aids cost me to get that benefit, personally, I'd just as soon not fart around trying to get the last moment of use of each battery. But, that's your call to make.

Q: Does it test 1.45V size 10 batteries?

Mine does. It's a tiny battery that fits at the end of the tester. The meter will handle it

Q: Does this tester work with zinc air batteries?

This will work with hearing aid batteries 675,13, 312, and 230/10. It is best to test them when the hearing aid tells you it needs to be changed. If the tester says it is low you can believe it. Sometimes moisture causes the hearing aid to say the battery is low when in fact it just needs to be dried out. This is where the tester helps save good batteries.

Q: From where does this battery tester gets its own power. By a battery (!?!) or a charger?

The battery tester itself uses no power itself. It simply reads the charge of the battery you place in it. There is no battery in the charger nor does it use a charger.
