Where in The USA is Carmen Sandiego? (Board Game)

I bought this as a fun gift for my fiancee for Christmas. She loved the "Where in * is Carmen Sandiego" series to the point that she still tries to get me to install the various games onto my computer whenever we see them on sale.As she also comes from a family of board game players, I correctly guessed both that she had never seen this board game like myself, and that she would love it because she is such a fan of the series; she was quite excited to receive it as a gift.We played it once on Christmas night, and it was a lot of fun. There are a lot of questions that really bring back some of the simple ideas of geography, like state capitols. The game requires that one must successfully answer a question before being able to proceed, and each question comes with a multiple choice option in case the person answering has no idea; by using the multiple choice option, you cannot travel as far as answering the question without multiple choice "assistance." This goes on as people discover different cards in a similar manner to Clue where one must uncover all three cards that go together, and then make a guess about where Carmen Sandiego is hiding.In addition to the multiple choice assistance, there is also help sitting on the board itself. The states have many of their more recognizable cities, and all capitols, printed onto them. This leads to a fun after-game, where a secondary game gives each player a set of tokens that have a state capitol on them. All players must place their tokens on the appropriate state within a preset amount of time, which depends on the number of people playing, or "Carmen Sandiego escapes."This game was fun to play, and it was refreshing to get the learning aspect of it as well. As a result, I suspect this would go well with children learning geography.The box that I received had a sizable dent in it, but I excuse this because the game has been out of production so long that storage of thin cardboard is bound to lead to dents.

I wish the person who sold it to me would have had info. on game so i could play right away, but he did give the link where to get info. on internet. With this game you really have to know your states,cap.'s! You only get 20seconds to catch Carmen!

Brought back fun childhood game night memories playing with my husband. We've had soo much fun learning weird facts about the U.S. Quick shipping and everything was intact! Thanks!

I gave two stars because I have yet to open it, because it is a Christmas gift for my boys. This was advertised as "NEW" When I receieved the package it was not in a box. It was wrapped in some type of plastic and the premeimter of the box was in masking tape. So when I peeled off the masking tape and plastic, it was taking off some on the shrink wrap that is suppose to pretect the game. The coreners of the box were damaged during shipping. Very unprofessional way to ship a "NEW" item, espically when it's supposed to be a gift. I will not be buy from again. It makes me also question if the game has not been "USED" prior and just wapped to look new.

I don't know HOW I ever was able to play this as a child, because it's pretty challenging as an adult. So much fun though!

I remember playing this game growing up and was so excited to find it again. I have bee using the questions in my classroom with my 5th graders as brain teasers. They loved the challenge. We haven't gotten to the point where we can play the game in class, but my husband, sister and I had a great time!

Found this very complicated to play.

Love the game. I think it is more entertaining for people who watched the show
