Upon plugging this device into multiple computers, the lights come on, as they should, and it beeps when a card is held over it, as it is supposed to. That is about the only thing I have found to be accurateI about Amazon's advertisement of this product.I have found that no computer I plug it into can even detect it. This goes for computers with Operating Systems that Amazon lists as compatible with this device. Consequently, It is impossible for me to use the device.In some wild hope that installing a NFC software would allow my computer to view the device, I downloaded four different universal NFC softwares, and none of them could see the reader. Then I tried to find the maker's website to see if I could download the software. Unfortunately, the companies that Amazon.com associated with the device, are not (as far as I can tell) even remotely affiliated with the device. Consequently, it took me something like six hours to find the software specific for this device, and what is worse is that I had to get the software from another company, not the manufacturer.Once I had the software, I found that not only could I still not detect the device on my computers, but that the software error messages were in a totally different language than the rest of the interface.During this whole process I found other online seller who sell the same product from ~$5 to ~$16 so now not only do I feel like Amazon sold me a piece of junk, I feel like they ripped me off in the process.To say that I am disappointed in both the product manufacturer and Amazon.com is a gross understatement.

This reader is incompatible with any freeware NFC programs, and the program they do ask you to use requires additional payment.

worked with seller but could not get to work with key fobs. works great with cards - that's not what i needed - giving 4 stars for seller attempt.

Does not read both frequencies. Can't do anything with the data of the tags is CAN read. My phone can do more than this thing can.

Agree with the other reviewer: other than beeping and flashing green, this product doesn't seem to expose any sort of data transfer or API. Additionally, it does not seem to detect NFC (32.56 MHz) but only RFID (125 KHz).

Great device, only downside is AV warnings on the software.
