Rogue Pinkerton Agents Invade
This book picks up right where book 1 "North to Laramie" left off. Former friends Sheriff Buck Trimmel and Adam Hagan have a widening of their differences. King Charles Hagan, the state's most powerful rancher and father of Adam, refuses to help avert a bounty on Trimmel and his son, partly because Trimmel hasn't reined in the son's enterprises, which although immoral, are legal. This fast paced book has the Sheriff in the fight for his life by corrupt rogue Pinkerton operatives paid off by a criminal business competitor of Adam Hagan.

Sheriff Trammel Takes On Many Challenges and The Odds Are Not In His Favor
Challenges continue for Sheriff Buck Trammel, as he and Adam are still in the sights of two camps, and possibly three. The Bowman family in Wichita still has a bounty on their heads, thinking they are responsible for the death of their sons, so the Pinkerton's are sent to Wyoming territory to take them out. The other is Charles Hagan, father? of Adam and head of the Blackstone Ranch with strong influence in the territory.Very action packed western with plenty of dialogue and side items (love interests, opium dealings, a loopy deputy (reminds me of Gunsmoke), and the usual under the table dealings that make westerns and fun read.

A great series
Book two of this series is everything you have come to expect from this talented writer. The story is fast-paced and exciting from beginning to end and definitely has me looking forward to book three. Fun reading.

Well written, great characters, and fast action
The second Buck Trammel book is even better than the first. Buck continues to be underestimated by some people who shouldn’t do that. He gets the upper hand through brute force, sticking to his guns, and sheer logic. Best of all, Buck has found his lady love—and she’s brilliant, fearsome, and a delight. This one is filled with bad guys, nefarious goings on, and some keen gunfights. Very entertaining read.

Bad blood, Pinkertons gone rogue, and crooked politicians make a Sheriff’s job tough
Classic old west action with excellent characters as a small-town Sheriff and his young deputy are all that stand between a crime wave that threatens to sweep more than just the county and honest hard-working citizens. A secret journal threatens the rich and powerful with disclosures and only one man with cruel power knows where it is. A wealthy rancher rules with an iron fist and fast bullwhip while denying his son protection from killers hired to avenge a bitter old timers sense of justice. Fascinating with page-turning action and well worth the time.

Sheriff Buck Trammel once again brings the law to Blackstone.
Buck not only faces the danger of King Charles but also a Larrime outlaw who has joined forces with thirteen Pinkerton men . They are all gunning for Buck. Exciting western from a fine author.

Doesn't get much better than this
Over the top western sequel and much more interesting than the first in this series. Our hero becomes very interesting once his back story is revealed. He continues to fight for justice while accepting that he can't right all the wrongs that he faces.

Pretty much an average Western; hardly in the Bill Johnstone class!
I didn't enjoy this story much, although the writing was good with a few good characters. The plot didn't amount to much with bad guys all over the place and a family that was at odds over something. But putting Pinkertons in a bad light was terrible fiction. And throwing in the "wisdom" of Wyatt Earp was amusing! I rate it very average as to individuals and plot; so I don't look forward to the next Buck Trammel Western. But I will buy it! Only Westerns on the market these days are the Johnstone Family stories and the much better ones by Chuck West!
