Is the base and the back of each draw also fabric like the sides.?

Yes but comes with a strengthening bottom, easy put together and I’m actually surprised at how sturdy it actually is

I would also say definitely no go I use mine for my bedroom and one draw I use for general plugs etc and it always drops and the material doesn’t always stay correct It’s beautiful otherwise though
