This worked perfectly. I rebuilt an old leaded glass door and had to flip the sides of the hinges and knob. This allowed me to perfectly drill out the holes for the knob and plunger. You still have to take care to ensure you’re hold the drill flat and level, but it made the process very easy. The only issue is that I had to drill a small center guide hole for the plunger to ensure the hole saw was precisely aligned, but that just took a minute or so. This is an excellent tool and very reasonably priced at only about $10.

I used this kit to enlarge an existing smaller hole for a dead bolt. Fairly easy to use. Make sure the screws holding the jig to the door are secure. Mine came loose and I had to tighten them again. This was not the fault of the kit but the worn screw holes of the door.

Good tool for installing door locks. The guide helps keep everything aligned and makes drilling cleaner and more accurate. Feels sturdy enough for occasional use and gets the job done without much hassle. Not professional grade, but definitely useful for DIY projects. Saved time and made the process easier overall.

This kit was a real time-saver. I bought a new door handle only to find that the hole for the spring latch was too small and needed to be 1 inch in diameter. My first thought was to take a rotary tool to it, but then I realized that would just make an uneven, unprofessional hole. So, I looked into what carpenters do and discovered they use tools like this. The price was great considering such tools can reach $70 or more. I lined it up and used the existing screws on the door; it fit perfectly and felt way more secure than I expected. I connected the 1" hole saw to my drill, and it cut with precision—it didn't even take a second and went through like butter! There was barely any mess, and I was shocked and glad I didn't use the rotary tool; there would have been wood shavings everywhere. This is an awesome tool and doesn't feel cheap. You've got my vote! I do want to mention that I only used it to widen the spring latch hole, but I don’t think there would be a problem if it were a new door and I had to do both holes.

Did it do the job? yes. Was it perfect and easy to use? no. We had a fiberglass door we had to go through. This wood strength version of the product did cut through it OK, but not easily. The biggest complaint I had about this was that the bit and the cutter was separate. This caused it to be difficult to use. It would frequently lose attachment and need to be adjusted. Frustrating, but eventually, effective.

I bought this for a deadbolt installation. Has everything you need to do it right. You still need to be able to drill straight but ifyou take your time I think the results will be fine. Could I have done w/o the guide? Sure, but why? For a few bucks you get everything you need to do it right. The bits are fairly cheap but I'm sure would last for a few doors. Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

I was really happy with this inexpensive little door knob template. It was easy to use and my door knob came out perfect. I was so nervous about drilling into my antique, one of a kind door. I didn't want to mess it up. But this template helped and my knob came out perfect. So glad I bought this.

I was doing this for the first time as a DIY and the results turned out better than I had expected. There are some concerns when using it such as the hole guide being wobbly if you are using the guide extended. I extended the guide to 2-3/4" backset and there really is no locking mechanism (at least that I could see via instructions), so preferably pre-drill the center point before going straight in to avoid misplacement. The hole saws worked well but I do see them not lasting if you are doing a lot of doors. As some have mentioned also, make sure you double check and measure that its centered because it doesn't exactly fit flush, and sometimes has gaps on both sides. I won't fault the product though because it got the job done.

Did the job. I wish I would have bought this at the onset of my project instead of wasting my money on cheaper alternatives. The guide and hole saw bits made this a very easy job. It lines up perfectly and the guide stays in place. Do yourself a favor and don't cheap out on similar flimsy products.
