It has fit every hotel door so far. It comes with a cinching pouch so I drop in in my suitcase and have it ready to go for my next trip. This adds a level of security for me when I’m on the road alone. Definitely recommend.

As an individual who resides in an apartment, I am entitled to use the laundry room with other tenants. Although management sent notices to every tenant asking them to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing on the premises, I have had issues with my neighbors walking into the laundry room and not following protocol. I complained to management about it, and they were very polite and told me, "I'm sorry, ma'am, but if you can't supply us with a name or a unit number, the only thing we can do is put notices on everyone's door."As I brought my laundry back into my unit, I thought to myself, "I wish they invented portable locks", and then it hit me. I did some research here on Amazon.com, and low and behold, I found this item, purchased it, and put it to use whenever I needed to use the laundry room. Of course, I also created a sign to be hung on the door outside informing other tenants that the laundry room is currently in use and that I would be out shortly. I have had this device for almost two months and it has been an absolute Godsend for me. So far, I have not had any issues with any of the tenants. In fact, one tenant asked me how I was able to lock the door from the inside, and I showed him this item. He exclaimed, "that's a great idea! I never thought about doing this!"I highly recommend this item for those who live in apartment/ condo complexes that are forced to share laundry room facilities with other tenants who absolutely refuse to wear a mask or practice "safe six". We may not be able to control the world or the people around us, but when it comes to our living conditions, we just have to find a way to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

As other reviewers had written, this will not set with a typical deadbolt. The opening is too small, very small so an average deadbolt will not fit in it. I even tried it on interior house doors and it's too small, even the small bathroom door ones won't set in this, which means it won't work on most doors. If it does, I would have concern that door could just be kicked in if someone wanted in a house bad enough.
