Is it easy to use? Bought the slide viewer for my 74-year-old father.

It is easier to use than the hand held ones. The major problem I have had is that the slides get stuck in it and are difficult to get out. But how else are we going to few all those old slides.

Can I take a picture of the slide

This is a great viewer but I see no way of taking a picture of a slide . I went so far as to use my cellphone and tried taking a picture thru the viewer lens and it doesn't work well at all. The picture is not at all nice. I wish it did work, darn it.......!

Plastic mounted slides ok?

I would assume ok. I just had cardboard mounted slides and they worked fine.

Will I be able to view 35mm films with this viewer?

Yes I believe you can. It has a slot for negatives so I assume you can slide the film in too.
